I cannot wait for Pandora World of Avatar to open. I've been craving something new in the Disney World parks that isn't Frozen. Though if the new Avatar movies come out and they're a flop, they can turn this sucker into a Frozen Land easily :grumpy:

Sure, just cut down the floating mountains and flock the rocks and there you have it............ easy - sure

After the RoL delay, I was worried that Pandora was going down the same path and I wouldn't see it in November. Looks like I don't have to worry anymore :joyfull:

The date I'd last heard for Pandora was almost 2 months later than this blackout date. So either progress has been made, or the "official opening" date is really "a couple months after we know it's gonna work."
I could see something very similar to what they did for Mine Train. They get a press event for one or both attractions and then they don't open for another month.

It's not out of the question that components of the land are "ready" at different times. If that's one theater on Flight of Passage or one boat at a time on Na'vi River Journey, that's enough for a press event.

I think if Disney already knew the opening date of Pandora, we'd already see some up-sell options at the Animal Kingdom lodge. "For only $500, get a opening day commemorative plastic bag full of Hostess Ding Dongs in the shape of Na'vi poop".

I'm assuming more soft previews for RoL.

The poop thing has precident in AK!

Just another reason why I stopped paying for an AP. I can understand Disney not wanting a giant crowd for a few weeks at the opening of an attraction but come on. AP's are die hard Disney fans then they block them from going?!! They announced Pandora 5 YEARS AGO and now they keep their dedicated followers from being the first to experience it.

Based on their track record lately I'd say they are afraid to announce an official opening without soft openings first

Can anyone recall if Mine Train had soft openings before the grand opening date was announced? If my memory serves me (which it doesn't always) I thought it had been going through soft openings before an official opening date was announced (which ended up being about 2 month after soft openings had started). I'm pretty sure that Mine Train was more or less open all the time in the days (possibly weeks) leading up to the grand opening. Would seem logical for them to do something similar here.
