Pal Mickey

It acts as somewhat of an interactive tour guide around the parks. As you pass different things Mickey will give you information and facts/trivia about what you are seeing. He also plays some games and will give you reminders about parades and shows. I feel that he is useful if you don't know a lot about the parks, but if you are familiar with the place it is 70 dollars that you can be saving.

I got him last year and I love him. He's soo adorable. Can get kind of heavy though after carrying him all day even on the lanyard. But I still thought he was worth it. And you can still play games with him when you get home!

I wanted to get one and didn't. If they still have them in Jan, I am gonna get one. I know all about the party- but still think it would be tons of fun!!!

what exactly does it do? Is it worth the money or is it just something extra to be carrying around?

For an adult or for a kid...cuz sometimes that line is greyed out around here....
My kids loved it. And yes, I enjoyed it despite knowing a lot about the parks. It's cute and if you have the money to spend, it might be worth it. Especially considering all the other things we tend to buy while at Disney... :D

Not old, just vintage.
I love my Pal Mickey. He is kinda "cheesy" but he is fun. The info he gives out is pretty useful, especially if you don't know a lot about the parks. However, he does get kind of heavy...I suggest using the clip rather than the lanyard. If you get one, buy him his special poncho when it rains....very useful.

I don't know what Pal Mickeys future is since the HCOE is over but I would imagine they will re-vamp him for YOMD.

One thing to remember is that if your child gets tired of carrying Mickey, dad gets to do it. Along with the ponchos, cameras, and everything else. :brick:

Also for Pal Mickey to work right he must be facing forward at all times for the GPS unit to function properly. If you're not holding his hand when he begins to vibrate, you may miss the message he wants you to hear. I often missed his message that could not be heard in congested areas where the noise levels were high.

Otherwise, the kids love him. My daughter plays with him here at home quite a bit and plans to take him again on our upcoming trip.

We bought one and thought it was worth the money. He even tells you when a popular ride doesn't have very many people in line so you can make the most of your time.
