O.K. excuse the term. "upgrade" its reboot. All I know is when I went last year my mickey spoke about Everest and Everest wasn't open in 03,04 or,05.:shrug: And I do remember when I bought them the first time and one again in 2005 (daughter lost hers the year before) the cast members did say they will "reboot" with the parks new info and rides. Or is that something they say to guest so they can sell more. AND NO I WASNT A APIRL FOOLS JOKE :fork: just trying to help someone with the information I know from the experience I had with my family. Isnt that what we are here for.

Thanks for the feedback - I was feeling pretty let-down when I read at first that Mickey wouldn't be current. We are going to take him along, have him rebooted/upgraded (whichever is the appropriate term) and report back how he works when we visit in July :sohappy:

OLD PAL MICKEYS CAN NEVER EVER EVER EVER BECOME "NEW" OR "CURRENT" THEY WILL ALWAYS AND FOREVER SAY THE OLD THINGS THAT WERE PROGRAMED INTO HIM WHEN HE WAS MANUFACTURED.

This is such an absurd internet myth. And it drives those of us who are trying to tell the TRUTH to people absolutely insane.

For example....My original Pal Mickey still talked about Alien Encounter when he gets triggered near Stitch's Great Escape. He'll NEVER talk about Stitch because when he was made, Stitch didn't exist. He will always and forever talk about AE and NOTHING can be done to make him current. Now, the old Pal Mickey can get the triggers to talk about that day's parade times, because he's already set-up to talk about parades so when he picks up the signal, he can say something about it. However, anything newer than he is will NEVER be included.

So, once more to clarify: Pal Mickey can ONLY say what he was programmed to say before you bought him and will NEVER be current and will NEVER be "updated" with new phrases or new games. No matter what anyone tells you to the contrary, it flat-out is NOT true.
