Did it finally fall apart? lol

Surprisingly, it's looked better the past few weeks than the months prior. Still dated, but more complete and functioning.

I am hoping that they are forgoing running tonight, in order to test run a parade after hours. I would love for it to all be tight-lipped and debut with surprise.

According to the new micechat post it seems, as most insiders have stated, that the DL resort is indeed looking to bring PTN to DCA... but they hit the snag of the Trolly wires and changes to those may have to fit in the budget with the new daytime parade. If true I guess this means PTN will either return back to DL or stay on hiatus until DCA fixes the wires?

DCA is where it belongs, not Main Street, while there at it they can build a Spectromagic for the Magic Kingdom and Paint the Night for Hollywood Studios.

I am still wishing fro some Magic and Pixie Dust to be spread so that a new nighttime parade comes to the Magic Kingdom before 2018! I am going in May 2018 and if there is not an evening parade, I will feel cheated by a ruined experience and feel like the night was not complete without a parade AND fireworks! For God's sake, after all these years of guests complaining and asking for Spectro Magic, you would think they would bring something comparable if not the actual parade. Who REALLY believes that the Spectro Magic units were beyond repair, while a parade(MSEP) from 1955 is still going strong in reincarnations!? Why couldn't they reincarnate the parade the same way MSEP has been over the DECADES! Their reasoning was that the technology was OBSOLETE...c'mon we didn't just fall off the turnip truck yesterday! Disney has the know how and the technology to do anything!

Probably to expensive for Igers, there were allot of roles to be played in that parade. If by any chance they were planning to bring it back there holding out so they can bring half of it back thinking well just be happy to have it back despite the cutback.

MSEP's been around since 1972.

PtN has issues of its own, one IMO being that it doesn't seem to really fit with the environment it travels through. Perhaps it might work better at Hollywood Studios or California Adventure, but too much of it feels overly techno/modern for something traveling down an early 1900's American town with a European castle at the end. Some floats work well, including the ones for B&tB and Frozen, others don't (Cars, Monsters Inc). And I actively dislike the soundtrack. I'm already not a huge fan of MSEP's soundtrack (though Dreamlights adds some nice variation to it), but even it has a certain charm to it. Paint the Night's music I just can't stand...

Crazy talk.

Someone posted elsewhere that Paint The Night will not be returning to any Disney park this year. California Adventure needs to adjust the trolly wires and Disneyland park will have their hands full with the Fantasmic, Halloween and holiday crowds. This makes the most sense yet sad that Paint will stay sitting backstage.

Hopefully it doesn't get damaged beyond repair

True. Hopefully not another Spectro situation. I'm sure Disneyland will have the floats stored away correctly and there won't be a major humidity issue to worry about unlike the east coast.
I believe it, just look how long they made the Electrical Parade last.

While I look forward to PTN running again, I'm all in if this is the decision, delay and all. Moving the parade to DCA is a great decision imo and if it takes a delay to adjust (instead of rip out) the trolley wires, then it's worth it to do the parade transition right.

If they ran MSEP at Disneyland and PTN at DCA that would be incredible

@GiveMeTheMusic made the comment they may be planning to remove the wires so PTN can debut in November. They should just take their time and keep the wires while making them retractable. Someone else posted they might be doing this in September/October... others say DCA won't have the budget until next year, then some now are saying MSEP is being shipped back to WDW... Who knows what to believe anymore.
