You'd think if it was actually done for good this time, Disney/Disneyland would actually say it's being RETIRED following this limited-time run. Yet that word has never been mentioned once during this entire campaign, only referring to it at as a "limited-time run." If this was truly the end of MSEP, it should be having a much grander send-off at its original home.

I have a feeling that it will be shipped back to WDW again after it's done with the limited time run in DL... Also does anyone know if the festival of fantasy is water proof or is WDW truly doesn't care about there floats anymore...
These posts, like many others, keep supposing and surmising and anticipating what Disney would/should/must do. Disney isn't bound to do what one thinks they would/should/must do. Trying to outguess Disney leads to "probably-will-happens" turning into "sure rumors."
Everyone we know with an inside connection is saying either MSEP is not coming back, or, there's been zero news on it coming back.
This make it coming back unlikely... no matter what one supposes Disney is doing by being silent on the issue.
For every "clue" it might come back (Disney hasn't said 'retired' yet!) there are other clues it ain't coming back (HEA was fast-tracked specifically to make-up for a lack of night parade and the overwhelming positive response makes a temporary night parade unlikely).

I'm just thinking out loud here and am well aware that the trusted insiders say MSEP is not returning. But it's hard not to ask questions when there are constant rumblings (that may or not be reliable) of its return. This website is filled with speculation, so I don't see why it's a problem here.
As I just said, the constant rumblings don't mean anything unless they come from insiders with real information. The constant rumblings are people wishing and surmising and guessing. That is not information.
It would be like if I said "EPICOT was complicit in JFK's assassination." And people started talking about that shocking revelation. Then you appear and show how it's not possible for you to have been complicit in JFK's assassination. And then I say....
"Well, people are talking about it. So, what's the problem with speculation on this rumblings of your complicity?"
That sort of cycle, where people and cable channel pundits raise false issues and then the "real news" personas bring it up because "people are talking about it" is the heart of Fake News. We need to see it and recognize it when it happens and say in no uncertain terms, "No. It is not okay to speculate based on no or false evidence. That's not speculation at all. Real speculation is extrapolating from facts. There are no facts here to speculate on."
If you think the rumblings are based on facts... then please link to those trustworthy sources.
I saw the Electrical Parade parade in DCA in 2006.

It's a discussion forum, I don't think anyone is claiming they have facts and please stop it with the "fake news". What you seem to be suggesting is that we should all just sit here waiting for insider info and hold our comments until then. Just seems a little silly to me, no one is starting any outrageous rumors. Would you really be surprised to see WDW bring MSEP back?

I find it beyond hilarious when people say, "Maybe WDW is waiting to bring the MSEP back because...", like the Orlando Destruction Team has a choice in where the MSEP, or any nighttime parade, goes. TDA owns MSEP. WDW owns their daytime parade (I think), and that's it. MSEP isn't going anywhere unless TDA gives its blessing.

Wow...keep up the great job policing the threads and telling people when their discussion is useless. Feel free to get the last word, I'm done with this.
I don't see MSEP having any less a chance of coming back than something like SoaT, which was also a surprise. Again, I'm actually not a big fan and think the park deserves something new and unique. But I also found it interesting that DL isn't marketing this as the end.

I actually think he does a great service for these boards by being "keeper of insider info". These insiders don't always have a change to respond to every thread so it's nice to have someone who keeps track of this information and posts it when necessary.

Ok, maybe it's just me but I thought the video that was shown at the parks talk at D23 made it pretty clear that MSEP was not coming back. Wasn't it in some warehouse with stuff from old rides long gone? I took it as it's retired and not coming back just like 2000 leagues under the sea...

I wasn't referring to that when I said "keeper of the insider info", I was referring to how he responded above. I appreciate all the work of Steve, our insiders, and members like you and Penguin who spend a lot of time collecting and sharing information. I just don't understand why anyone should be berated for discussion not rooted in absolute fact. Speculation is what makes these boards fun, not being lectured for posting something not backed up by insiders. Just my opinion, I'll let it go.
