That is a wonderful feeling. Before we were DVC members we did that also. Now that we are DVC, we actually started a second savings account at our bank just for vacation expenses. We also buy pre-paid card for the kids-they are old enough to run around on their own if they want to. We also pay everything we can on the disney cards to get disney dollars.

We work the system at our Kroger. We buy Disney gift cards and regular gift cards (Chilis, Subway, Birthday gifts, etc.) when they are 3x or 4x multiplying gift cards in points with the Disney Visa-then pay it off. We pay for dining plan, annual passes and DVC dues with the gift cards. And right now, you can get up to $2.00 off a gallon on gas. All this really adds up for items.

Whatever works to not see a bill after a vacation!

We just put the deposit on our room last month. We split the expense so its manageable. Next week, we will buy one FL annual pass at Tickets at Work offered through our HR dept. (Hubby still has his valid FL Driver License). In two weeks, another $500 down on the room making it half paid off. Aug means two more FL Annual Passes for the girls. Sept will be the 5 day hopper for me (no more FL license :( ). By then the room discounts will be out and the remaining room balance gets paid. The driving from MA is still on the sidelines if airfare doesn't come down. Otherwise, I would probably never go....its harder these days to come up with that big lump sum!

Congratulations, Sept is a great time to go. Love that POFQ !!! Say hi to the CM's there for me. Special hi to the door man whose so pleasant to talk to.

Indeed. The only thing left to pay for is MNSSHP tickets, Universal, and gas/food. Not bad considering we didn't have this trip planned until we were headed home back in March.
