while our trip is still aways off I was woundering for a 18 day trip how many outfits would you pack. We were thinking 8 - 9 plus 1 or 2 nicer ones incase we needed to dress up for anything. Also with pop are how many laundry areas are around is it one or more per building or just one big one. also for those that have used them what was the best time if ther was a wait. Sorry for all the questions just seeing how much of a pain it could be. Thank You

I believe Pop has laundry facilites by each pool. They are fairly large with multiple machines so timing might not be a problem. I try to pack mix and match stuff so that I can pack less and have more different looks, plus you'll probably buy a t-shirt or two while there. Unless you have definite plans for a dressy place I would skip the dressy outfits. Very few places on property have a dress code where anything more than your usual park attire would be needed. Remember to bring your own detergent and supplies as the stuff from the vending machine is pricey.

Have a great time! 18 days, wow!:)

9 outfits sounds good and do laundry mid week. We did that for our 9 day trip a few weeks ago and it worked out great. Bring your own detergent in fillable travel sized bottles for 50 cents from Walmart. Saved a lot of money and we were able to use our fav brand. A lot of people were complaining that the powder they sell in the facilities there do not wash well and left clumps on the clothes. It is $2 a wash and $2 a dry so be prepared with quarters.

Ahh see I prefer to pack more than I might need than less. Here I can spend as much time looking for a deal as needed- there you have to get what you can get your hands on at the time. One of the things that I have really packed for is the "change"- you know the one- you put your outfit on and you are having a good day, your feet hurt a little so you sit down before you realize that your husband just put his chocolate mickey ice cream down right there, or someone spills their drink in your crotch, or your child thinks it is cute to wipe their hands all over you. Yeah that change. Anyway, if you are planning on spending time at the laundromats just be sure to not wait until you are in your last clean outfit. You may end up more frustrated than anything else! Good luck- 18 days is a Disney to die for to me!

I don't believe in doing laundry on vacation. Of course, we always drive so I canpack as much as I want. For our 12 day trip I packed 16 or 17 everday park outfits and 2 nice outfits for each of us. I also packed about 20 pairs of socks for each of us.

I totally agree about the socks. Extra socks are totally necessary and helpful!

I've never done laundry but am considering doing some next month during our trip. The two best tips I've found are to bring your own detergent/fabric softener sheets and to not overload the dryers. I've read a few stories about people having to run one load 3 times in the dryer before it was dry.

I always had that problem while doing laundry in college. You wanna save money by overloading the washer and dryer. But in the end, you spend more money because it doesn't dry them after one cycle. My plan is to put the laundry in and go swimming while I wait, probably at night. Of course, if it is very busy I may need to adjust that a bit!

We've never done laundry on vacation and I can understand why some people don't like to do it. But I'm sort of in the situation where I don't have enough items that I really want to pack/will be comfortable to wear. I'm in between sizes and had a terrible time finding shorts that I liked this summer. I basically have 4 pairs of shorts that I like. I have a few others but they are either too big/too small and you don't want that with all the walking you do, you know? So I'm just going to pack less and suck it up to do one load of laundry. My guess would be more and more people will be doing laundry since the airlines are charging for extra bags. We fly Southwest, so this while this isn't a problem for us, I can understand it.

1 Tshirt, 1 pair of shorts, 1 pair of socks and 1 set of underwear. You can leave them to soak in the bath overnight and they're clean for the next day

Thank You for the info, now at least we have a better idea for packing. And for the ones saying 18 days, I would not be able to afford that myself but as I said in another thread awhile ago, I have a friend who was lucky enough to come into a very large amount of money and even though he wanted to pay for the whole thing, is now paying for about half with tickets for universal and the space center
