Packing?? When??

I'm a little crazy as my suitcases were out in December for my June trip. All I put in them then were things we got for Christmas for the trip. But now I've started actually started to pack, my overnight bag is packed and today I'm going to pack the backpack we're going to use in DTD. So when do you start packing and do you use a packing list?

I am leaving next Tuesday, and I am not officially packed yet. Kinda hard to do when your clothes are with you and your suitcase is with your parents. However I did start a couple months back, I have some clothing items that I know I won't be wearing until I get to the states in my case already. I also have things bought specifically for America that are waiting to go in. The packing really starts this Saturday when I half move out of my flat and back to my parents for the summer. This week I will sorting out the things I currently wear that I want to take with me. Then all that remains is putting it all together. XD hand luggage generally won't be done til the night before or morning of departure as many of those things I will be using just before I leave. Toiletries etc are not a problem this time around, aside from my airport frienwrenches hence kit, fiancé is providing those, perk of an American fiancé. (yes I did make him go to public and buy Herbal Essences. XD)

And lord knows there's no list!

I haven't started packing yet, but I do have some things set aside for me to start. I have made packing lists tho. I had to make 4 of them this time. 3 for my family and one for my daughter's friend that is coming with us. She asked me to make it so I was all up on that. Now I just have to make sure she is taking it seriously and that she has started packing.

Reading this thread reminded me that we need new suitcases. Last trip was not so good for them with zippers and seams ripping apart. (Too many WDW treasures maybe?) We usually start packing about a week out and lay out each days "projected" items. Sometimes however that means I wear something totally ugly to work the day before we leave:eek:

So great! I bring the Lysol and Clorox wipes too! My husband thinks I am nuts because the first thing I do ins Clorox wipe the door knobs and tv remote. We bring a huge bottle of purell and fill up our little bottles to bring to the park. Do you think I am a germaphobe?
No because I do the same thing! I also worry about what my children might share!

Oh not at all!!! It was so funny last year at the Poly. We sprayed Lysol (with Febreeze LOL) so much in our room, Mousekeeping commented how nice is smelled in our room LOL I am allergic to melaleuca, so I figured the lysol would help... it did! LOL

Last time I went to Disney World, I forgot my dental floss picks. Oops. Luckily, we went to WalMart the next day and I got some. Next time, I'll definitely make a list and double and triple check my list. My cats love to "help" me pack.
