Every WDW resort has laundry facilities. Most are found near the pool areas. I've always found them to be quite pricey though - the dryers take a long time and lots of quarters!

But you can always do light loads in the washer and hang stuff to dry outside your balcony.

The only tbad things about doing laundry @ WDW is a: It takes time away from parks or fun in general, and b: someone has to watch the stuff pretty closely. best case scenario, someone waiting for you to finish your load of laundry will throw it out the nansecond your load is done so they can put their load in. Worst case, your stuff isn't done and they STILL take it out, OR they just decide your stuff is nicer and take it.

The good things about doing laundry at WDW is you can pack less, and if you're lucky, the washing machines won't be in use, and you can do a bunch of loads all at once.

Usually, laundry rooms can be found next to the pool(s) so you can at least soak and have sone fun (or if you're a parent, your kids can swim and you can keep an eye on them and the clothes).

Being a DVC member, we tried to get enough points for a week in a studio and a few nights in a 1BR villa. Since the villas have their own laundry facilities, you can keep rotating loads of laundry each time you walk back in to your room.

Maxximus, something else to consider is those vacumn-seal packs that allows you to pack more in less space by s__________g all the air out of your laundry. You can pack more that way.

I hate to over pack. We typically go for 2 weeks and only pack for 5 - 7 days worth of clothes. Now I always do laundry while my DW & DD sleep. I am always up @ 5:00 AM so I go put on a load of clothes and go for a walk then put clothes in the dryer and go for another walk. By this time they are ussually ready to get going and we hit the parks.

If it was up to my wife she would pack everything we own and have me carry it through the airport. I let her pack for her and my DD on our first trip after my DD was born and let me tell you that she slightly overpacked. We were gone for 2 weeks and my DD & DW had 2 ginormous suitcases filled beyond capacity and we could barely get all of the luggage for 3 of us (my DD was only 5) in a full size rental car. During that trip 2 of her suitcases did not even get opened. I simply moved their entire wardrobe up and down the East coast for nothing. Live and learn.

Slappy I thought about those vacuum bags months ago when I saw the commercial but forgot about them that fast :brick:

Anyway, I just made sure we all bought an extra shirt for each day.

Also... are there irons in the rooms or should I bring one with me? Cause I know after sitting in the luggage for a week... heck... actually after the airlines get done throwing them from here to timbuktu, they will need a good ironing. I dont want people thinking I just crawled out from under a gutter now do I?? :D

Unless you are having a special dinner or something, forget ironing. At WDW, everyone looks like they are living out of a suitcase - don't worry about it. Plus the humidity will steam any wrinkles out after you wear it for a few minutes outside.

If you still insist - according to the website, all hotels have irons and ironing boards in the rooms these days.

Well my wife and I had a blow-out with each other in the mall the other day while shopping for cloths, so maybe someone with a little more insight can respond to this one:

I told her we need to have at minimum, an extra shirt and under clothing for each day because of how hot its going to be. I told her that being out the door at 6:30AM until early afternoon you will want to return to the room and relax and shower and your not gonna want to put the same stuff back on after showing. Well she got mad because she thinks its a waste of money buying 2 sets of cloths. Am I right or is she right?

See, this is where staying off property and renting a house comes in handy - I have a washer and dryer. We usually stay just over a week, and I agree with you - wearing nasty, sticky clothes later in the day is just a no-can-do. I usually end up doing a load or two of laundry twice during the week.

Sorry you had a blow-out about it, though - that's sounds like something my DH and I would fight over! :)

I start my list making and packing about 2 months in advance. We all get brand new undies and socks. I like to over pack a bit esp. for my DD. I pack for all 3 of us, DH, DD and me. It's easier for me to do all the packing that way I can double check my list. We aren't going until Feb. but stuff we need is already floating thru my head.:D
