Hi everyone! We are traveling in august with our then 7 1/2 month old for his first time at WDW!! Does anyone have a packing list that they could share with me? Did you wish you would have taken something that you didn't think you would need? TIA

my son was 9 months old when we went last year..here's the list i took and I shipped most of it..since we didn't buy him a plane ticket i didnt' want to pay for luggage for stuff that he would use so i shipped it right to hotel...I can't find the list that I made on Goggle Docs, but here's the one that I know (i remember it bcuz I went over and over and over)

3 Jars of food per day (plus 3 extra just in case)
8 Diapers per day
Wipes (I sent one of those big plastic ones, I think it holds 152 or something like that..we ran out..we tended to use them not just for diapers, but for my older daughter and her hands..she seemed to get alot more sticky at WDW..lol)
Bottles
1 can of formula
6 cans of Gerber Snacks (like the puffs, or wagon wheels or whatever)
Take and toss silverware and cups..I didn't want to worry about keeping up with silverware or worrying if he lost his sippy cup at AKL..if we kept up with them and were able to reuse, great..if he lost em..oh well...
table covers..those sticky ones for the dining table..they were great..slap it on and throw some puffs til dinner got there and he was happpier
His own sheets for the pack and play and his own blanket
Baby sunblock
I took the all in one shampoo and baby wash
I figured 2 outfits per day with a couple extra (you can always wash or buy if somethign really happens)
the disposable bibs..LOVE those..whip em out, slap em on and boom done
disposable changing pad covers..my diaper bag was so big and the changing pad was a big part of it..since we had the double stroller and space was at a premium i grabbed some disposable changing pad covers...throw a few into the stroller and just chunk when done
The roll of dirty diaper plastic bags..I still carry those..they are great for wet clothes, emergency diaper changes that don't happen in the bathroom, explosions where it gets all over the clothes..you don't have to smell it all day
2 little swimmers, just in case we decided to jump in the pool with him
a little diaper bag first aid kit
and a little medicine kit (baby tylenol, baby ibuprofen, gas drops, teething medicine and so forth)

I actually over packed..only bcuz he decided while we were there he didnt' want to eat jars anymore..he sat at dinner with us and watched us eat "real" food and he wasn't having anymore to do with jars..lol..

The baby stations were great !! We left the wipes at home one day and were able to pick some up..I actually hung out and let little man kinda crawl around a little while they took my older daughter on a ride..

Sandals...I know your little one isn't walking yet, but it's just a good idea to have them..I brought some for my son..he would kinda walk if you held his hand, but he would kinda crawl too..lol (he was kinda anti-crawling), anyway..technically you have to have shoes on them if they are outta the stroller..some people have a problem with this, me, I bought some cheap sandals to throw on his feet when he was out...

If I think of anything else i will let you know

I forgot our own sheets for the pack and play and our poor little one had a reaction to the sheets they gave us. She had a rash on her face for half of our trip before I realized it was the sheets and put a beach towel we brought from home over the mattress.

I also found some straps at babies r us that I could attach her drink cup and snack cup right to the stroller so I didn't have to worry about her throwing them when she was done.

Took our daughter last June at 7 months and had a blast!

- Sunshade for the stroller....it was perfect, especially when she napped.
- Not sure if he's still on bottles, but we used Dr. Brown's bottles and found Dr. Brown's "ziploc" microwave sterilizer bags. They worked perfectly and were super easy to pack (we're DVC members and had a one br villa w/a microwave)
- Packed each outfit in a gallon sized ziploc bag - when we left for the parks, we'd grab a couple extra "outfit bags" and toss in our backpack. When we had to change her, we'd put the dirty outfit in the empty bag. Kept everything together and made packing much easier
- As mentioned earlier - lots of disposable bibs, spoons, bowls, etc.
- High chair cover - we had one by Fisher Price that is designed to fit over the "restaurant style" high chairs. Folded up into it's own little pouch when we were done
- Before we left, I made a list of what we'd need each day (amount of food, bottles, formula, diapers, etc) based on a typcial day at home. We used that list each morning as a check list when packing our bags so we didnt' forget anything. Always had more than we needed, but at least we never had to run back to the room!

Have fun....he won't remember it, but you sure will!

Oh YES the packing each outfit in the plastic bag worked so well for us too. It was super easy to direct my husband to dress our daughter while I was in the shower if everything was already planned out.

While I didn't do WDW with my kids at that age- I did do 3 days at Sea World San Antonio. It was around 106 degrees each day- so we also packed some things to help with the heat...plus here are some of my "less common" packing items commonly on my list.

- we brought her Bumbo seat. While she could sit up on her own at this point, the Bumbo worked well for shows. Sure, we held her some of the time, but when it's hot- cutting back on some of the body to body contact is helpful.

- frozen water bottles. We used them to a) keep her bottles chilled while in the park b) put under a blanket in the stroller with her to give her some added cooling in the hot temps

- new toys and books. Obviously small portable ones, but things that can make travel, lines, and wait times for shows more enjoyable.

- pea pod. I prefer a pea pod to a pack n play when traveling with an infant. Mainly b/c it can easily be packed up in your luggage and it's light.

- night light/music. I always would travel with a night light and would load their bed time music on my ipod to help make it feel more like home come bed time.

- and while you need essential things like diapers and baby food to last the entire trip...I prefer to either ship it or buy it from a regular super market at my destination. Traveling with that much stuff can take up too much space and can be heavy.

I never thought of that..I would lay out the clothes they were gonna wear the night before so whoever could get them dressed the next day and I would pack the stroller the night before (we had a suite so it was great..the kids could sleep in the bedroom and I could get unwind and plan and pack for the next day), but the clothes in plastic bags is a great idea..since we will have limited room in the stroller clothes in flat bags will be alot nicer than a diaper bag with clothes..thanks for the idears

We took our one year old twins in May. At home we bathe them in an inflatable "yellow ducky tub" inside the tub. I brought one of those and it made bath time super easy and it was what they were used to.

I second the pack and play sheets from home.

My daughter still uses a paci so one of those clips that clipped it to her shirt saved us on many occasions - along with the sippy cup "leashes"

We also bought stroller fans that really helped with the heat. We bought ours at Mousegears in epcot but I have seen them in several baby stores. There was really no airflow in their stroller.

We stayed in a 1 bdroom villa so we had a kitchen. We ordered all the food supplies from Garden Grocer we needed for the kids so we didnt have to deal with packing them.

Hope you have a great time - make sure to take lots of pictures!!!

Yes, those fans are great for keeping the stroller a little cooler. I didn't have a proper sun shade for our stroller (besides for the canopy that was already on it) but I use to bring a big beach towel to the parks with me. It was really handy... when she would fall asleep in the stroller I would throw the towel over the stroller and it would give her a semi-dark place to nap and kept the sun off her (of course, I had the clip-on fan going the whole time). The blanket is also great if you have older babies that are walking... you can let them get wet in the many splash areas and then dry them off after!

And another option for the tub is one of those super cheap little two ring pools you can get at a dollar store for like 2 bucks. They fit in the tub and are big enough to bathe your baby in. I didn't use one at Disney b/c my baby was a little older when we went and was fine to sit up in the big tub. But I use to travel with it a lot when my babies were little, I'd use it at grandma's house, hotels etc.

I also recommend the Mommy Hook for your stroller. You can hang anything on that! http://www.themommyhook.com/

Oh, and I don't know if it's been mentioned already but don't forget some dish detergent and maybe a bottle brush for cleaning out their bottles or sippy cups in the sink!

Great suggestions from the other posters!!

I would make sure to pack a rain cover for the stroller too! Afternoon rain showers are very common.

I would also bring a sling to carry your little one

Oh and outlet covers for the room!!

Hi!

I know how it feels when you have to bring a baby with you to WDW.

Here is some important things you MUST need to go-

1. Water and milk
2. Diapers
3. mats or small cradles for baby to sleep
4. jackets... it can get cold during the Christmas and New year Seasons!
5. blankets

and lastly,

6. A bag to put all your stuff~

You can rent a locker (small/big) for a price.

Have a splendid day/s at WDW~!
