Ok anyone have OCD like me and have a great way of packing like a list to follow?? Things u need when you have 4 kids ages 14, 8, 3 and 10 months. I want to make up a program with all of our packing needs. Just wondering if anyone has done this. Also any input on items needed would be great !! I always seem to over pack and I do not want to this time. I even bought those space bags. OH and we are staying from Sept 19 to 28. Thanks for all your help.

Sorry if this is scattered but my 10 month old is grabbing my leg and arm!! LOL

For in the parks

A couple of mini backpacks that zip closed for the larger family members.
Filled with:
Water bottles
Those little tubes of flavoring for water bottles
Bandaids
Hand wipes
Suntan lotion
Extra pairs dry socks
Mini packs of crackers or cookies
Tickets, map, important phone #'s and itinerary

Have fun, and keep it light!!!

I have only 1 child (2 1/2 y/o), but we go to Disney and TN often. I have several packing lists. One large one for me including everything I may need at any given time of year. I print it out before each trip and cross off anything that I don't need for that trip (ex., a sweatshirt in the summer). For DS, I have 4 lists on the computer (warm Disney/cold Disney/warm TN/cold TN). Depending on where and when we are going, I print the corresponding list. It helps me not to forget anything.

Oh, one more thing...if you are going to be putting the clothes of multiple family members in the same suitcase, use ziplock bags (labeled with names) for socks and underwear. It will keep them neat, organized, and seperated. For the little ones, you could also put indivdual outfits (including socks, undergarments/diaper) in indivdual ziplocks, so no matter who is helping them dress, they will be able to easly grab an entire outfit. It's also good for bringing a spare change of clothes into the parks.

We are DEFINITELY "list makers" !!!! I have a "Miscellaneous" list (snacks, toiletries, etc), a list for packing each person, a list for "Packing" (what goes in the van & where). I also do lists of what we need to buy (for each person, & miscellaneous - 1st aid kit, meds, toiletries, hand sanitizers, etc). We also tend to "overpack", because it's just too expensive to run to the store & buy what you need! I want no room for error. My sister is the one to check off our lists as we pack then load, because one time we went, my son ended up leaving both pairs of shoes at home (he got in the van barefoot, since he was going back to sleep:snore:) We had to stop at a Walmart to buy new shoes at 6:00 in the morning.

Counting down the days to December 12!!!

You are going for 10 days...nice. I always over pack and I only have one son. Well, this year to try to avoid that as far as clothes go, I am only packing enough clothes for half of the trip and doing laundry mid trip. That will save space.:)

Send me your email address, and I'll send you my trip planning spreadsheet. It has a whole tab dedicated to Packing. If you want to talk OCD, you've come to the right place.
