Package or seperate

Do most of you bother to book rooms, tickets, flights seperate or do you just do package set by Disney? Just did the math and for seven nights and six day tickets I think I would save $167 by doing it seperate, but I have always done package because i figure less could go wrong.

just ran numbers again and it seems to be same thing. The difference of $82 (cheaper seperate) for Hotel and tickets and $85 difference in flight (cheaper seperate). (NO insurance either way)

I always book rooms seperate from everything else. I am retired so I am lucky to be able to get a good discount. If you do your homework you can get some good discounts. We also drive every time no air fare involved.

We all do a package. We drive down from South Jesrsy knowing everything is paid for and taken care of. All we have to do is get there, check in and then go have the time of our lives.

Can you post or PM me the details of your trip, without flight?

ie. dates, resort, room type, ticket types, number of adults and kids and ages of kids?

I ran pricing for a client just yesterday and the difference in pricing between having a standard room and a preferred room at the value resort was $84 and some change...

It should only take me a few minutes.

If you checked prices on Disney's booking engine you have to make sure it was the cheapest room category and ticket options. When pricing a package many times the system will default with water park options included. Also many times it will default with a higher priced room category. Don't trust the booking engine. Call Disney and ask it both ways.

If you added air on Disney's site there also may be the problem. Disney has bulk air and retail air. Bulk air is contracted rates with airlines that in some markets are higher prices than retail air. When you are in the booking engine in the air segment you can tell if it says in the right hand side of the page "non refundable" and payment due.

I agree. I usually just mess around online before we have our minds mostly made up to get an idea of what the costs will be. But when it comes to the booking I get on the phone to hear what a CM has to say on my choices.

I've never booked airfare as part of the package, I've always done that separate, part of the reason for this though is that I like to fly Southwest.

Never officially.

I've heard some CM's have said that it's a cost for the little package extras that you get, such as the luggage tags and other package extras....personally, I think they have little cost as the price to do them in bulk must be 0.25 or less.. I think they are trying to recoup the cost of mailing the document voucher packet.
