I saw on Theme Park Tourist where they're showing extended sneak peaks of Oz the Great and Powerful at DCA in the Muppet Vision 3D theater. Any chance of this coming to WDW? Or, better yet, any chance Disney might be looking at a theme park attraction using the Oz characters to maybe replace Michal Jackson in the Imagination theaters?

It's playing in DCA because MuppetVision isn't very popular out there. Not that TDO cares, but it wouldn't thematically fit in Epcot or in Imagination.

I sure hope Oz doesn't go into EPCOT. That would be terrible.

It would be a little odd I think....but they could probably make it work.

Well, I don't think Oz is any more thematically inappropriate than Captain Eo, but that's a low standard. Actually, something Oz related in the American Adventure wouldn't be bad at all, as Wizard of Oz is pretty much a highlight of Americana and pretty revered in this country. Not saying that the new movie will be anything like that though...

That said, if they want to do an attraction based on the new movie, Frontierland or somewhere in DHS would probably be the most logical.

Well it's coming on Sunday for one day only for the people who won the contest from the Disney Parks Blog.

I guess I am one that always wins the blog stuff cause I am going. It's very funny this topic should already be going, I just got off GMR at the Studios and was going to start a topic. I would actually bet if Oz does any good numbers you will see Fantasia gone from GMR and some how put in the original plan for the twister in that area with The Great and Poweful Oz in the ballon. It would be a great addition and not kill anything big on the attraction.

Translation - Special sneak peek for those who always seem to get the free stuff anyways.... I swear its the same people over and over who win these blog meetups...
Aww geez yup they did it again. Didn't even see the signups for it this time. But I'm not really following it or glued to my computer to be the first to sign up.

Why couldn't they have done a passholder screening like they did for John Carter. I guess they knew that one was gonna get panned and hoped to spread some buzz?

I guess they felt putting the Oz playground in the EPCOT F&W festival that it was enough marketing representation for the upcoming movie. Although I don't see why they would've done the same thing that they did with DCA in addition to the garden. I think TDO/Disney should show OTGAP extended sneak peaks in DHS Muppet Theater. How many days of the week do they show extended sneak peaks out in DCA?

God bless the "Ignore" button.
Heck, we already have a hot air balloon at Muppets, why not? Well, I can think of a few reasons but...
I think it'd be okay as a new temporary show at Imagination. It's thematically better than EO, anyways, which I feel is a very temporary thing anyways. I can only imagine the confusion it'd cause, though. Charging an addition God knows how much to spend two hours of a Disney Day in one film that also has a general release doesn't sound like a very popular idea.

The seating in the park attraction theaters isn't particularly comfortable, and I couldn't imagine sitting through a 2 hour movie in those seats. Guests have come to expect a bit more comfort (and setups such as stadium seating) when it comes to the modern movie theater.

Similarly, the seats in the Star Tours Starspeeders are fine for a 5 minute trip to Endor, but there's no way I'd last in a flight from Orlando to Anaheim.

They could premiere the movie over here at the Muppet's ride in 4D Im pretty sure there is a part with bubbles during that ride so they could tie that in with Glinda whenever she does her thing in the film. Since there are fire balls in the movie when the wicked witch throws one at the screen that could create the hole in the wall that the Swedish chef fires through during the ride, see this is limited time magic and I would definitely go to that.
