I can vouch for that, when I went to Disneyland last year, I went by myself and was terrified to fly (I was fine as soon as we took off, I actually love flying but was nervous being alone) and didn't get to eat anything until I got to Disneyland 7 hours later. Not a good afternoon.

I too overeat at WDW, but that's the fun of being on vacation. If it's hot when I'm there, I just tell myself that I'll sweat off the calories, but I like to eat and consume a few adult beverages at EPCOT, so in the end, my tummy wins and my credit card is the loser!

I don't eat a lot there, but I do eat the sort of foods I wouldn't often eat at home! But then, we're on holiday, and we are going to enjoy ourselves.

Last year, DH and I both lost some weight to go to WDW, and we were dreading coming home and weighing. In 2 weeks, we both put on 4 pounds - so that wasn't bad, because we really enjoyed the food on holiday! And we lost the 4 pounds within another 2 weeks.

I probably eat more over there than I do at home as american protions are a bit bigger than our portions (they were the last time we went) and I tend to eat more junk food as well. Although as i'm bout 128 pounds and 5ft10 I'm not too worried about gaining a little bit of weight

Why are all the best looking deserts at WDW so full of carbs and unhealthy

I tend to find that although I eat more during a trip to The World I return home at much the same weight - we're on the go from first thing in the morning 'till late at night and all that walking helps keep the weight down

Not really a problem for me. Generally, looking at things like funnel cakes makes me feel ill.....

I normally eat a lot less at WDW than I do at home. I will usually have a breakfast, small lunch and a decent dinner with perhaps an ice cream in the middle. Most other snacks I see in the world just aren't for me.

Luckily I couldn't gain weight if you paid me. Between the fast metabolism and miles and miles of walking at the World, I can eat everything in site. :slurp:

Heading for the great escape.
I eat plenty but rarely gain weight, lardy enough, perhaps its because we are on the go 15-16 hours a day, only eat at meal times and dont overdo desert.

My eating habits at wdw are worse but my activity level is much higher, so it balances out! I also eat fewer meals there, probably one big meal with several snacks throughout the day. With all the walking, I think I usually break even. Even some of the healthier options aren't so bad. They definitely have much more variety now and people don't have an excuse to not eat healthy. But as I see it, it's vacation, I'm SUPPOSED to eat my weight in Dole Whip! :ROFLOL:

Favorite places to splurge:
Dole Whip (on a 7 day trip, average of 4 or 5 consumed)
Casey's (Only hot dog I will eat all year...get it with the CHEESE)
Fish n Chips in England (mmmm greasy goodness)
Grand Marnier slush in France (now if they could just get the crepes right)

Places I plan to try on the next trip:
Boma (always hear good things about the zebra domes!)
homemade ice cream cookie sandwich (they still have these right? on main st?)
The Zebra Domes are good but highly overrated in my opinion, Boma however is not. Boma is one of our favorite restaurants and it's the best buffet on property. DEFINITELY give it a try, you won't regret it! They have an AMAZING breakfast as well.

We had the DDP last year and will have it again this year, I actually found that with the DDP that we did not over eat as much as we do when we buy food. Not that we didn't gorge on foods at Boma & Ohana those meals but the rest of the meals were satisfying not overeating. Also it's almost too hot to be very hungry. I find that when it's hot out, I don't get as hungry, even with all the walking we do. We also brought our own snacks (I know no fun!) but, it saved us money....and calories!!! I find it hard to spend the money that they charge on the mickey icecreams, dole whips, funnel cakes etc.....but I think this year....I might just do it! The handful of times I have been to disney.....I have never tried these, and reading on this site I believe I am missing out!

Now if you want to talk about overeating......go on the disney cruise....your talking food 24/7! They have the upperdeck dedicated to different food stations which is available all day long. Chicken fingers, pizza, icecream, veggie wraps just to name a few. Oh and don't forget you can get room service too. This is on top of you 3 meals a day! Now the cruise....I came back with some snug pants:ROFLOL:

Let us not forget.....vacation is for fun, and what fun is it if you can't enjoy a good meal.....but, disney is a magical vacation....and the food there is magical and you just can't get it anywhere else.....so eat, drink, be merry....MANGE!

I leave June 2nd :sohappy:

I know I'm going to spend more on food than anything. I just want a cute bag and an umbrella as far as souvenirs go.

But I find myself wanting everything I see someone eatting or whatever smells good and the last thing on my mind when I eat anything there is calories. You burn most of the calories from all the walking anyway!

Do you find yourself overeatting while at WDW? how much cash do you spend in a day?

1st thing I want : A FUNNEL CAKE!! :)

I'll probably have one everyday I'm there!!
We ate so much food on our trip last year, that when we went to eat at some of our ADR's, we were already full from the previous meal or snack.
We are going to pace ourselves a little better this year when it comes to eating.

I don't do much in the way of snacky foods at WDW. Dole Whips - meh (ducks the barrage of rocks)

Figaro Fries I do like, but if I do eat them, thats about all I eat all day. :)

Most days breasfast is something very light, coffee and fruit or somthing like that.

Mid day I'll grab a quick bite

Then dinner is where the trouble starts :D

I really don't think you burn that many calories while walking around, I know my heart rate does not go up enough to be effective.

My weight normaly moves between 210 and 220 anyway (i'm 6' 4"), when I get back from WDW it's usualy on the upper end of that scale.

On our last trip in April we got the bdp and we really thought we got our moneys worth. It pretty much followed along with how we eat while visiting WDW. On the other hand my family that traveled down with us got the dbp and couldn't handle it! It was food, food, and more food!
