Disney Parks Blog just posted this in the comments -
"At this time, they are only expected to appear in Norway at Epcot through January 4, 2014."

But we dont know if its in the stave church or not yet, it sounds like stave church is getting a new exhibit, and not the meetngreet.

It will be how the beauty and culture of Norway inspired the film makers.

I feel bad for Denmark, one of their great stories is being billed as Norwegian.

Sounds like it will be a nice exhibit thats tied into Norway at least.

And your right lol Denmark is getting the shaft when it really hails from there.

....then I suppose I shouldn't let my wife in on that info ....she's of Danish ancestry ....can never find anything in Epcot (Norway) ...that's remotely Danish ...and leaves the gift shoppe there ...every time ...disappointed.

lol well it is Norway afterall, but Denmark was suppose to get its own pavilion back in the 90s, fell through of course with all the others.

The exhibit that belongs there is the one on stave churches themselves. It made more sense than the viking exhibit, and I have to say that I actually learned the significance of the stave churches to Norway from that older exhibit. It made the stave church's existence in EPCOT's Norway actually have more meaning.

To be fair, is the Snow Queen set in Denmark? Hans Christian Anderson was Danish, but that doesn't necessarily mean that the story is based on happening in his homeland. I have not read the Snow Queen, but from what I gather about the story, it takes place in a northern/colder kingdom which while fictional would be more consistent with Norway than Denmark.

The Norway pavilion was to be Denmark at first. Then it was to be 3 countries Denmark, Norway and Sweden. Finally Norway put up the money and it became just Norway - http://themickeywiki.com/index.php?title=Norway

Yep, and even after that there were still plans for a seperate Danish pavilion that Eisner almost signed off on with the Danish government. So the story goes from the hidden treasures of the world tour.

I believe the only resemblance Frozen has to Hans Christian Anderson's Snow Queen is that it is set someplace cold, and there is a girl and boy in it...and maybe snowflakes...but I think that is about it. The story has been completely rewritten.

.....I actually loved the food in Norway. We ate there twice (prior to the invasion of the princesses) ...and the cold buffet + the hot entrees (all you could eat) was great ..and something I miss.

Because it was REAL Norwegian food, The venison stew was excellent along with the selection of cheeses on the cold buffet. Many of which I was unaware of but liked and found sources for them after returning home

I wish I could have experienced the restaurant before it became Princess Storybook whatever.... I wonder if there is a limit to what people will pay per person to eat there. I was looking at prices and it was like holy no way... Kid or no kid.

Yeah its way ridiculous. Get this though, back in the late 90s when we ate there a lot, I was in high school etc, it was only $12.95 for the lunch buffet, and it was good too and authentic as described by others above.

It also use to be part of the candlelight processional package which we enjoyed.

.....agreed!! Absolutely delicious food!! Authentic ...with a flair ...like poached cod with the shoestring sliced carrots & leeks and horseradish mashed potatoes ....or the braised lamb with cabbage and the herb oil ....the salmon was delish too!!

....they also had ...for dessert ...BIG cookies that the kids could "paint" with colored frostings and chocolate sauce

...the cold buffet is where I was introduced to Gjetost cheese ...which I love to this day.

....of course that was when I was there back in 2004 & 2005

Can we go yet?

I actually wouldn't mind it too much...if that meant they would take better care of the ride...last time I was there it was pretty dirty.
