Trip Report Our First Trip

Hi everybody! My boyfriend and I just went on our first trip together. I want to recall it to the general public because it was probably the best trip I could have ever been on (even better than my imagination, too). I'll be doing this in spurts (because I'm quite busy. Full time job. New apartment. You know...adult life :p)

So...stay tuned!!!!

You can tell how happy we are based upon this picture.

We decided we were thirsty, so we stopped by the bar. I got some Guava Lemonade Vodka drink. Sam got a beer.

You honestly couldn't taste the liquor in my drink.
It started raining out and us (kind of tipsy) decided to do Kali River Rapids. In the rain. Best. Decision. EVER. We had so much fun. It started to downpour as we were on it. Which worked out great for us because we love the rain and it knocked a lot of people out of the park.

Safari's wait time went from 75 minutes to 10 minutes, so we decided to hop on that! We got some pretty nice pictures.

We decided to go to the Grand Floridian Café for lunch! Sam has never been to the Grand Floridian and I'm so glad that I was the first person to take him!

upload_2016-9-12_20-23-48.png

He had this amazing sandwich called the Grand Sandwich (highly recommend!). It came with this delectable cheese sauce...yum! I had an omelet with hash browns, which was great since we had burgers the night before. We also got some Floridia Sunshine...in a glass since Sam has sensitive skin.

upload_2016-9-12_20-27-14.png

Then we walked around the Grand Floridian.

I just kept hinting at the fact that this would be a beautiful place to stay one day. ;):inlove: 20??* (inside joke for Sam :inlove:)

Day 2: Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom (Cont.)

After we spent some time walking around Grand Floridian, we took the monorail to MK.

upload_2016-9-13_18-41-13.png

Sam's uncle (technically dad's best friend who was really close to the family) has a stone with his name on it. He passed away a couple of years ago and we both wanted to find it to send to his dad. We were told it was by Magic Kingdom, so we spent some time trying to find it. We then found out that it was by the Polynesian and decided to try to find it later; although I suggested a couple of times to go back, we weren't able to on this trip.

Anywho, we got this beautiful picture in the park:

upload_2016-9-13_18-44-49.png

We spent a while finding Sam the perfect shirt. We both agreed on this shirt. I think this colour blue really brings out his blue eyes.:inlove:

Then, this picture happened:

If there was any picture that could represent our entire trip, it would be this one. Our entire trip was captured in a single, magical moment. Our first of many trips we would take together!

We went on a couple of rides. We had a FP at Splash Mountain. It was my first time on it in a really long time, so it was great to experience again!

My best friend, Sarah, was also in the park. It was really funny because at 4:45 we were waiting for Hall of Presidents and Sarah texted me that she was at the Hall of Presidents. What are the chances?!?! Of course, we met up with Sarah and watched the performance with her. It was the first time I saw her for months and I was super stoked to be reunited with her. It was the first time she met Sam, too. When Sam and I were last home and I had a party with my friends, she couldn't join because she was spending the week in Vegas.

We departed for a bit and walked over to Tomorrowland. We had FPs for Space Mountain at 7:30 and we had yet to ride Carousel of Progress. After CoP, Sarah met us again and we did Laugh Floor.

I totally look gross in this picture, but this is the only one I had of us. Her joke was chosen on the board! This was Sam's first time experiencing it and he thought it was great! We both really liked how the show interacted with the audience. We then headed off to Space Mountain; Sarah waited for us at the gift shop. We all had dinner afterwards and then parted ways. Sam and I went on a couple of more rides, like Haunted Mansion and Jungle Cruise. It was my first time on Jungle Cruise and I absolutely love it!!! When we came back and had dinner with his mom and dad this weekend, I cracked a couple of jokes and his mom told me I should work for Jungle Cruise. Honestly, it was the best compliment ever!

We headed to PoC, which was temporarily closed, but still managed to get some great pics!

upload_2016-9-13_19-4-9.png

We then went behind the castle to watch the fireworks show. Afterwards, we went on PoC, which was open again. Around 11:30 pm, we left the park. Both of us were exhausted and it was waaaayyyyy past our bedtimes. We usually go to bed around 9-9:30; we swear we are a bunch of old people :D

Day 3: Epcot and Rain Showers

We were supposed to wake up early on Sunday to go to DHS for their Extra Magic Hours, but we kind of slept in late and had a later morning. When we eventually got out of bed, we decided to just go straight to Epcot, which is exactly what we did.

upload_2016-9-14_17-56-14.png

Sam was really happy with his 100 spf that I bought him before the trip in front of Epcot. No skin cancer for us! By the way, for anybody who burns easily and/or is fair skinned, I highly recommend this lotion. It might be more expensive, but it's totally worth it. Sam barely got sunburnt during the trip and he only applied about once a day!

Of course, we saved the best park for the last.

And, of course, being the caffeine addict that I am, I have a coffee in my hand when this picture was taken.

upload_2016-9-14_17-58-51.png

Our first ride was Mission: Space, which I haven't been on in over 10 years. It only had about a 5 minute wait time. I grew a bit nervous by the warning signs they had about motion sickness and claustrophobia (I have both). I once blacked out on a ride at Hershey Park and am a bit traumatized by it. But, the ride was amazing and reminded us of Interstellar. We both agreed that it seemed a lot less intense than we rememebered it.

We then decided to go to Imagination, which had a kind of long wait time of 30 minutes. We definitely imagineered throughout the ride :joyfull:

Afterwards, we slowly made our way over to Beaches & Cream since we had a lunch reservation there.

Looks like you guys had a great time! You will never have a first trip together again, but I can tell you we still get that same feeling every time we go.. The first trip my wife and I took to Disney was on our honeymoon and it has been a yearly vacation for us ever since. (23 years.. boy how time flies!)

The Beach Club is both of our favourite!

upload_2016-9-14_19-16-54.png

upload_2016-9-14_19-17-9.png

There was a 45 minute wait, so we just went around Beach & Yacht Club. We spent some time in the arcade and also got drinks at Crew's Cup. I had a Pina Colada that I was so craving. We both got amazing meals at Beaches and Cream and both agreed that the onion rings were some of the best we ever had. We got a 2-scoop cookies and cream and vanilla with fudge sundae. I was really craving peanut butter that day, but Sam has a nut allergy and so I had to stay away. How he's not allergic to me is still a mystery ;)

After our amazing lunch, we went over to Ellen's Universe of Energy to ride it with Sarah, who once worked on it. While waiting for her, I got a couple of good shots of the Wonders of Life Pavilion.

upload_2016-9-14_19-21-29.png

It was my first time on Ellen's Energy and I found it quite amusing. Sarah parted ways since she had dinner reservations in Italy and we had a 6pm FP at Test Track, which temporarily closed the entire night because of a rain storm.

While we waited around, we got a couple of margaritas.

Test Track was temporarily closed and we got caught in the pouring rain.

So, we were stuck while it was raining, but made the best of it.

After about 30 minutes, we decide to traverse over to AK to just waste time as the rain stopped. We originally had plans to ride Everest at night, however we weren't able to do so since it would be storming all night.

upload_2016-9-14_19-58-22.png

We ended our night at AK. We didn't even go in. It was so rainy that we decided to just spend our night in our hotel room and have an early night.

This was a really great day! It was actually fun getting stuck in the rain (Mainly because I was with @AdventurerEllie and I am happy any place we are together especially Disney;)). We ran from Spaceship Earth to a gift shop to take cover and we listened to the storm together while sitting outside in a covered walkway!

It was fun getting stuck in the rain with you :inlove:

I love the dual reporting going on now, it's fun. I have been married 21 years and will be back in less than a week to the world and it is still magical together every time we go. We still enjoy each other's company outside of Disney too but it's even better there! Much happiness to you both!!

I love hearing those types of stories where couples keep going back and have been going back for 20+ years. There's nothing I would want more than to do that with @Livingwiththeland555 !:inlove: Disney is super special to us since that's what truly connected us and we are happy to have such a magical place to share together. I hope you and your wife have tons of fun on your trip, and I'm sure you'll experience the magic throughout your stay!
