Pre-Trip Our First Sister Trip! Contemporary Resort!

Hi everyone! This is my first ever pre-trip report, so please bear with me. (If you have any trip report tricks and tips that would be much appreciated!)

WHY: It hasn't been 84 years, but it sure does feel like forever since I've been to Walt Disney World. My last trip was in 2013 and it was absolutely wonderful. I went with my parents, my sister, her boyfriend, and my boyfriend. We shared two connecting rooms at the Polynesian and stayed for 8 days, 7 nights over Easter Break.

familyatpoly.jpg

After that, several things got in the way of returning to THE WORLD. We couldn't afford to take the whole family again, my boyfriend couldn't afford to go nor could he get the vacation days, and my sister has been in college unable to take time off. (Yes, they do get summer and winter breaks, but she was going to school throughout both of them the past couple of years!)

A couple of family members and friends were talking more and more about their upcoming trips to WDW this year, which caused me to realize some things. I've never used a Magic Band (AND I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO! I need to do more research!) I haven't seen the MK's new (new to me) 3pm show. I haven't ridden the Mine Train yet, nor have I seen any of the new scenes in Star Tours. I've been listening to the WDW loops nonstop any chance I get. I was seriously missing Disney and I needed to find a way to go.

My parents are unable to go this year due to my mom having her second hip replacement surgery. My dad will be staying home and taking care of her. I knew my boyfriend couldn't go, but the #1 person I really wanted to go to WDW with was my sister. I bribed and bribed and bribed her, and finally one handbag and blazer (and offer to pay for the trip) later, my sister agreed to take a few days out of her busy schedule to come with me this summer!!

WHO? My sister and I! She's 20 and I am 27 (will be 28 once we arrive)

That's it for now, but I have made all of our ADRs and will be posting those either later this weekend or next week!
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
As promised, here are our ADRs and our plans.
**These are subject to change, as I am not sure how Rivers of Light will factor into this. Hopefully it will be open while we are there, but since we don't know times, we can't plan around it. If anyone has any info/suggestions that would be greatly appreciated!**

Screen Shot 2016-03-30 at 1.18.45 PM.png

We will have breakfast very early in the morning at The Contemporary so we can hop on a bus to the Animal Kingdom as close to opening as possible. We will spend the morning there, then head to the Grand Floridian for tea at 2. After tea, we'll head on over to spend some time in Epcot for dinner and their extra magic hours.
Breakfast: Contemporary (QS)
Lunch: Afternoon Tea @ 2
Dinner: La Hacienda @ 6:30 (TS)

WEDNESDAY [MK + departure]
We will eat a big, very early breakfast at the Contemporary. Then, we'll check out and spend our remaining time in WDW at the Magic Kingdom.
Breakfast: Contemporary (QS)

Anywho, let me know what you guys think! There's always room to move some stuff around. I'm bummed this time that we'll be missing out on eating at the 50's Prime Time, but we switched that out in favor of Teppan Edo since we have never eaten there before.

I totally just read this pre-trip when i should have been working, opps! Hahaha

Your plans sound great!! Jelous of your bb8 bands
Haha that's ok, I'm sure you'll still get your work done!! :D consider it a brain break! And thanks! I'm super excited for them -- they'll be our first ever magic bands!!

Tea at the grand Floridan, I have never heard of this! is that something you reserve?
Yes! Check out the link @b33b33 posted. You can make reservations for it online while you are on a computer, but if you don't have access to a computer you'll have to do it by phone.

All of these plans sound SO FUN! As someone with no children all my trips are adults only. Enjoy the pre feelings!!
Thank you!!! :D I guess as my sister and I got older it became adults only for us and my parents, but she's never taken a trip or been on a plane without my parents. It will definitely be interesting!! :)

Haven't done much in the way of trip planning recently except for ...BUYING THE MEMORY MAKER! :) This should be great for getting plenty of photos of the two of us since my parents and our boyfriends won't be around to help.

I know the trip is still 66 days away, but I am starting to think of what I want to wear in the parks. I will be bringing a few pairs of flip flops and a pair of sneakers, but I am wondering what to wear! Usually I put on the standard shorts and tank tops while I am there, but this time I wanted to wear something better. I have a bunch of Disney themed t-shirts I was considering bringing, but t-shirts usually make me too hot in the parks and then I get that awful t-shirt tan. I've seen others mention BodyGlide so maybe I will pack a dress and use that!

My sister and I were very happy to have Memory Maker. You can only take so many selfies!

I wear dresses all the time at Disney :) I do use body glide sometimes but I also use a thin pair of spandex under my dresses. Its especially helpful when getting in and out of rides in a dress! I've never been too hot with the spandex under my dresses either.

HI ALL! Thanks to the Animal Kingdom's nighttime offerings and hours now being confirmed, we have switched one of our reservations! Instead of having dinner at Teppan Edo on Sunday the 12th we are going to head over to Yak and Yeti and use our Table Service there. Then hopefully we can get to see the new Jungle Book water show and the Nighttime Safari! If we can't get into those then we can at least see the Tree of Life's small show and ride Expedition Everest at night! :) This will be the first time we have actually gone to the Animal Kingdom twice in one trip! :jawdrop::jawdrop::jawdrop::jawdrop::jawdrop::jawdrop::jawdrop::jawdrop::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

GUYS!!! ONLY 11 DAYS LEFT! I AM SO EXCITED!

I went shopping yesterday and bought a couple of new things for the trip. I've gained some weight since last summer so a lot of my shorts are too short, too tight, or ride up in the middle as I walk. I also bought a couple of cute t-shirts and a really comfy light weight romper! I'll put up some pictures later! :)

So now that I have finally finished and set our itinerary ... I made some little booklets for me and my sister to have. We have the trip planned down to the hour for most things, so this will definitely be handy for us! LITERALLY, as it fits in the palm of our hands.

Even from someone like me who doesn't prepare at all, I have to say that your little itinerary booklets are just the cutest and most practical things! Well done!
