Thanks for your feed back. Oh and I do have one concern with travel. Can I travel from MK to DTD via bus or would I have to change over at a resort. In which case I guess I should just walk to Contemp and catch the bus to DTD there....right...???

There are sooo many things that you will want to stop and see, picture spots, etc that as soon as you walk into MK your plans will fly out the window and the Magic of Disney will take over. Don't stress so much about the guides, or touring plans, or where an agenda.

My biggest advice is to figure out prior to ANY park entrance is
1. get an idea where you think you will want to eat, and about when. Make the appropriate reservations if needed (menus avail online)
2. Highlight 5 rides and a show or two for that park and set them as your goal anything else is bonus.
3. Go with the flow. If you pass a ride and it has a short line, hop on.
4. Stop, breath, and take a look around you. So many of my buddies that visit Disney are so rushed to get to a ride that they miss so much of the "little" things. The Gremlin on Display at DS, the side shows at Epcot in the each of the countries in the WS, Watching the castle change colors at night while munching on a Disney Treat of some sort, all the details at AK.
5. Enjoy yourself! It is hard if not impossible to get everything done. Take time and enjoy what you are doing.

Regarding the food and Reservations.
I am big on a few Table Service places to eat during our vacation, it is a nice break for the feet. However, there are a LOT of FABULOUS Counter service places to eat at Disney especially Epcot. Check out the menus if you can.

Thanks for the advice. I do plan on trying to slow down once we get to the parks. And I cant wait to experience all that Disney Magic. Especially seeing my kids enjoy it, that's what I am looking forward to most.

I think all of these are really good suggestions. I think another thing to take into account when looking at a line is what kind of ride it is. Some rides like The Haunted Mansion or Buzz Lightyear are continuously moving and have almost zero load time, even if the line looks pretty long, the wait may not be that bad.

We don't really ever use any plans other than having to be certain places for ADRs, we usually just try to do are best to gauge where it looks like everyone is going on a certain morning and go somewhere else, this usually works out well most of the time.

Also, I've found Animal Kingdom is best to go to first thing in the morning, most of the times we go there then and there's very few others in the park, at least two or three times we've gone over to Expedition Everest and have gotten on with at most one or two trains in front of us multiple times in a row.

Well I can imagine you and your family are very excited about coming and have no idea what to expect.

I am one of the lucky ones that get to go whenever I feel like it since I am not far at all and have an annual pass.

The only insight I can give you is this since you only have a limited time.
When you get to the park you will adjust your schedule according to ride wait times. Grab fast pass for the very popular rides that are slow to load, like peter pan, big thunder, space mountain, and spash mountain.

Since you will be going in first thing you will be able to hit at least three rides quickly before the lines start filling. Your idea to get to Space mountain first is a good idea.

Remember have a great time.
