Our 2010 Sci-Fi Dine In Emergency Experience!

We were at WDW Oct 11-17. On our second to last day there, we had lunch at Sci-Fi Dine In. My husband and crazy 2 year old were sitting in the backseat of one of the cars. My husband turned for a brief second to pour a shake into a second cup. In the meantime, my daughter dove head-first out of the back of the car, landing on her forehead on the concrete. From her crazy loud screams, we assumed she was probably fine...we have learned over the years to worry the most when head injuries make our kids quiet (I have some super active children who are stunt machines). But the golf-ball size purple knot that appeared within minutes was a bit worrisome. The managers were AWESOME...they actually called the paramedics and kept checking on us. The paramedics came to our table in the restaurant to check on her...by this time she was eating and playing again. Her face was purple though for at least 2 weeks. I was again amazed at the wonderful service you receive at WDW...not only did they take care of us well, but made sure it was at minimal disruption to our day.

Well I am sorry to hear that, glad everything turned out alright in the end though. And it is good to see that they took care of you guys, even after you didn't need it....A happy ending all around.

So glad your it wasn't serious...my son was a demolition crew all of his own so I know how that goes!... but are we really all amazed at how great WDW handles this type of thing? That's why we love them so much... I am so glad you shared this. Sometimes people only tend to tell the bad... :)

Sorry your daughter got hurt, but I'm glad your family was well taken care of by the CM's. Its always nice to hear when CM's make a positive lasting impression on guests with their personal touches.

Other than that...how was the food?

You definitely go for the atmosphere, not the food. It is decent, but the kind of place where I just end up ordering a burger and fries. The chocolate peanut butter cake is fantastic though! As are the shakes.

So glad your daughter is okay and wasn't more seriously hurt. Glad to hear that Disney took her accident seriously and that you were happy with your treatment. It's nice to hear a positive comment every now and then. :)
