We used to stay at the Sirata (used to be called El Sirata) about 25 years ago. Looked much different back then. The people who owned it were from here in Northern Kentucky, as am I. They have since passed away, and I have no idea if their kids own it or not. It was interesting seeing your pictures. That is a great area to spend some time at.

Mark in KY

no kiddin! that's so cool to hear! i had no idea the original owners were from KY (i'm from western KY) i'm not really sure either if their kids own it or not...i don't think they do...cuz the people who owns it now told us that they bought it (and at the time, were doing some rennovating). they have 2 other hotels on that same stretch of beach. all three of them are under the name Tradewinds, but of course they're named differently.
it is indeed a nice place to stay! from what i could tell, it was a nice place for family vacations! i'm so glad you enjoyed the pics!

Well, there is always Sawgrass Mills...or as I like to call it...HELL! Dawn S, where do you live now? Windemere or Ft. Lauderdale? I am on the edge of the craziness in Weston.

Oh, my most favorite people? The French Canadians. Now THERE is a friendly group of people.

Exact opposite for me I used to live in Southern California, San Diego, but then I moved to Sarasota. I will probably eventually go back to San Diego one day, but I don't know if I will ever live there again, unless, the views of California change.
