Osborne Lights update

For those who like the Osborne lights at MGM, here's a little update. Disney has bought about 25 "audio visual paks" which will allow the strands of lights to dance to music being played. They are thinking of installing them on either one or two sections of buildings and having them play every 15 minutes. The paks bought, were built by the same company used for the house seen in the link below. (hard to belive, but this house is the reason why Disney bought the paks)

When I saw the video of that house last year I immediately thought Disney should be doing something like that. It would have been cooler if they thought of it first, but hopefully with the money and manpower they have with the Osborne Lights they can really put on a stunning show timed to music. I hope its true and works out for all of us to see :).

That sounds real cool. I hope they do it and do it this year, as we will be down there November 28th to December 2nd.:xmas:

That house in the vidoe is in the same area as I work. People lined up forever to get a glimpse of the show. He broadcast the audio portion on a low power fm station so you could see the sync. It was a really nice display, the videos really don;t do it justice. It took him almost 3 months to get all done. Rumor is he is doing something even more elaborate this year. Time will tell.

I can't wait for the Osborne Lights! But I do wish they expanded it to residential street again, but oh well....I hope these dancing lights are used this year! :D

It's kind of hard to expand it to residential street, since that street no longer exists! I, too, liked it better when it was on the resi street, mainly because it seemed more like his display in Arkansas (which was on his 3 houses). But, I'm just glad that the lights are on display! Can't wait to see them!! :xmas: :xmas: :xmas:

Coll. I think Disnye could get away with something like this at the Osbourne Lights quite effectively. Sync'd to Disney holiday music, of course.

The snobby do nothings in my home-owners association would have strokes if I installed something like that........now that gives me an idea. :D

Universal's Christmas Tree danced to music last year... It had a bunch of sections that would light up, change colors and do other effects to various music cues... It was pretty neat... Can't wait to see MGM like that...

I just spent the last few days looking into thease controll boxes. Watch all the videos thay are great. Actually with the money Disney has they could do every building on Ney York/San Fran Street and it would deffinately be great. These units arent cheap....they run about 400.00 bucks for a 16 channel unit. The program to run them is about another 100.00 but you can run something like 8000 channles off one computer if I read it right. Anyhow now is even more reason to pick one of these up.
