Good thing I decided to see it twice in the same week (Sun. Nov. 8 and Wed. Nov. 11).
Unfortunately for me, despite posting dates through 1/3/16 (the last day of the actual event) you can't actually get these glasses after 12/30. Oh well. They have them at the Dollar Tree. Just seems absurd to me to only offer glasses for 3 hours twice a week. Disney definitely values its APs.

Don't be surprised if this is a preview for everyone and not exclusively for pass holders. Don't be surprised if it's suddenly Christmas at Studios on November 1st. Gotta get all those last looks in.
That was my suspicion as well - much like the Food and Wine "Cast preview" there will be nothing exclusive about it. Thats just not how the WDW passholder program works anymore.

Although, I think DLR is way past due for one of those renewal parties. Maybe One Disney has struck again.

I did a little more research and from what I'm finding this is actually more of a soft opening available to all guests they are not officially announcing to manage the crowds in the days leading up to the official opening on the 6th. That's why there is nothing on the website or anywhere else about this event being a Passholder Exclusive.

That's how it was described to me as well this morning. I was told by multiple cast members that it was Passholder Exclusive when the email was sent out, but it is going to be a soft opening available to AP's and day guests alike.

It's in the DHS TIMES GUIDE all week. Wouldn't that be a official announcement?

That's contrary to what I was told by a guest service CM and Manager, but I guess we should know for sure in 45 minutes

Again I'm sure it's really happening and CM's have been wrong before even Managers lol, because this was also in the Passholder email for October as my initial post. Why in the email if it was not going to happen? Lol. And other sources have been reporting it like above and others as well the last several weeks.
If it ends up not happening probably just something changed and was supposed to happen etc and it did not work out. Was not just a rumor how those of us saw it in our Passholder email that gets emails. :)

False. ALL guests are being let in. It's just a general soft preview.

They must have decided to allow all guests but it was supposed to just be Passholders and DVC.
Also some CM's/managers were saying there was NO preview OR soft opening as well so who knows!! Lol :)
It allows more to see them then! The more the merrier! :)

I can't wait to see them :)
Enjoy them for me!! So sad I won't see them this year for the last time at HS. I did get to last year and several other years though so I am blessed to have seen them more than once.
I did take pics of the lights up and in place last week for one last time during the day while there. :)

Ok how about a little live reporting

So my first experience with the osbourne lights was in 2009 and I have seen them off and on since. This year however the attention to detail is evident. The progamers have been working there butts off as the shows are more unique than ever. The lighting folks also stepped up their game and have added some really cool details like the 20year anniversary tinkerbell, a 6inch tall olaf and a full 1:1 kermit hidden in a great spot. This is in addition to lighting things they have never lit before like the us mail box and the back side of the building by muppets. They also lit tue trees behind the new york city facades as in past years but they seem to have doubled the number of lights. As usual there are hidden mickey's everywhere but they have apparently perfected the bundles of lights version as the 4 inch mickey's seem to be everywhere this year. If you get a chance come check it out, you will not be disappointed.
