Osborne Family Lights on Residential Street.

When the Osborne Family Lights first came to what was then Disney MGM, the lights were located along Residential Street and you got to wander through the neighborhood and the home facades were covered with lights. It took only a tiny amount of imagination to feel like you were walking through a real, highly decorated neighborhood. It was wonderful, especially with a cup of warm cocoa, and especially if you were there during a really cool evening.
Did you ever walk through there before the demise of Residential Street? Any pictures to share? Any pics of the Golden Girls house front?

I did prefer the lights when they were on Residential Street as they had the added element of depth. However, there has been a steady curve of improvement since the lights came to the Streets of America.
Yes, lots of improvements and additions. I was just being nostalgic.

Aw, that sounds awesome. I didn't even know they ever put the lights back there. I hope someone has pictures to share! I've only seen the lights as they are now.
Could not find any lights pics, but here is an old map showing where residential street was.

Thanks to the fact that Shutterfly never deletes your pictures from their servers, I have quick access to some photos from the olden days of the Osborne Lights on Residential Street. These were taken at the AP Previews in 2000 and 2001.

Streets of America was just the holding pen until they opened up Residential Street:

Very cool, @Tiggerish Thank you for sharing. We used to love wandering along the street, looking for the hidden Mickey. Several were added over the years, but at first there was only one or two and hard to find.

I only have photos of a few of the houses, don't think any of them is the Golden Girls house, though.

This is the house that was Alice's house on Adventures in Wonderland, if anyone watched that show.

Same photo, but with the flash on:

There were even opportunities for meet & greets with uncommon characters:

That's all I got. :)

Way beyond cool. Thank you so much. Love the hidden Mickey on the door, and the awesome smile.

LOVE me some Poppins Penguin!! I was so excited to see them and the toy soldier. Yes, I am a total geek. :geek:
And you are totally awesome as well. Looking at the outline of the chimney and the little cutout of the roof and little peak to the roof in your lights picture, we have a winner! The reason I was interested in the Golden Girls house was a long time ago there was Superstar Television at Disney MGM. I got to be on an episode of Golden Girls in it, and there are just so many pleasant memories! Superstar Television, to me far exceeds American Idol.

Oh, @Tiggerish I clicked on the like button of your Osborne lights pics about a dozen times. Need a super like, love it option. Dang, I sound like a teenager, giddy with excitement over the picture. OK, I'll try growing up sometime.

Never do so!!! Growing up is overrated. I tried it once, but it wasn't for me. ;)

I remember Superstar Television, and agree that it was 1000% better than AI.
