I wouldn't say none.
If the facts of the situation at the time of publication state that there is no correlation, the headline shouldn't include it. It should definitely be mentioned in the article as speculation, though.

Would there be any causality implied if Steve had written "...amid hurricane season..."?
No, because an office park being delayed would not reasonably cause hurricane casualties. Saying that something is taking place amid a feud with the governor implies that the "something" is at least related to the feud. If all that the casual social media user reads is that headline, they will be left with a false impression.

Now, is that the fault of the media outlet? No, not necessarily. But they should be mindful of the new media landscape we are all living in (where a majority don't read the article, and just essentially read and share headlines), and write headlines to convey as much of the facts of the situation as possible in one sentence.

I always hear about the brutal traffic on I-4, but the handful of times I've driven on it, it has always moved smoothly. I keep waiting for one of those massive traffic jams that are referenced.

My wife and I are driving down (from PA) with my parents this weekend. Hopefully this isn't the time we get stopped!
You have simply been lucky.

I can count on one hand the number of times that were not late at night where I4 from about Lake Mary to SR535 was clear sailing. I quickly got used to finding alternate routes around and through Orlando to get to Disney for work.

I am getting there. I have sites from Polk to Melbourne up to daytona. I avoid I4 like the plague, and most of the time my GPS does steer me around it all. We usually take 535 up to a few places from osceola but I feel like that is ending soon. There are about 5 more lights that have not been activated yet... Not looking forward to that.

Disney stated there was no correlation, but if their decision to postpone was related to employee retention, and employee retention was related to politics, is it really safe to say that?

There is nothing wrong with a media organization drawing comparisons and inviting the readers to ask questions.

I'd suggest that there is something wrong with doing so in the headline itself, given that the tendency is for social media users to read a headline and click share. The proper place for drawing comparisons is in the body of the article.

Yes, I have been lucky! In January, we were driving from Pop Century to Port Canaveral for a cruise. Based on our Port Arrival Time, we were going to leave ~8:45 a.m. I thought, "this is going to be the time I get stuck" figuring it was part of the morning rush hour. I think the traffic slowed to 45-50 MPH for a short bit (~half mile) before I exited onto 528. It was smooth sailing from there.

528 has been pretty good to me. if there's not an accident or rain it is pretty solid.

I'm cheap so using 528 was limited. If I had to go to the coast from Orlando, I usually used SR50. It didn't really take much more time. I also very rarely used 417.

If I was there now, my views would probably change but when I lived there money was tight.

In the interest of fairness, I'd like to point out that this is not just an issue with one "side" of the media. Here's two conservative outlets with the same implication in the headline:

Disney Changes Plan To Move Staff From California To Florida Amid Battle With Ron DeSantis

Disney delays moving 2,000 jobs to Florida amid fight with DeSantis

The headline is is definitely becoming the full story lately.

Directly? Probably not. Indirectly?

In the last year, I've talked to 8 different acquaintances at WDI that were asked to move to Florida. 2 said yes and have already moved. Of the 6 that said no, 4 of them are still employed at WDI "waiting" for their roles to move. The number of people asked, who said yes to moving, is pretty low (25%), and certainly you can assume politics played some part in that.

I also don't think Disney was wanting to, or prepared to, shed over 70% of their WDI base due to this move. Not only is that a huge number of people and knowledge to lose in California, that is an daunting ask to replace from the talent pool in Florida.

By announcing that they are delaying the move publicly, as they have, they can now try to convince people in California to stay in their roles a little longer, delay the exodus that has already started, and maybe give them more time to find talent and people in Florida that to date, they haven't been able to find. It probably won't work because the damage has already been done.

It wouldn't be surprising at all if this just ends up fading out of the news, and Imagineers are allowed to stay past their "move date."
Orlando is rapidly becoming the center of the global themed entertainment industry. IAAPA is going to be there for the foreseeable future. UC is already there. It’s clear that WDI should expand their footprint in FL. I wouldn’t be surprised if WDW generates more OCF than all the other resorts combined.

the use of "amid" doesn't imply that he was the cause
I would argue it implies precisely that - intentionally or otherwise.
While I trust that Steve's intentions are good
Same.

Yes. (And in context, that also makes sense - it's wise to delay things like that amid hurricane season.)
Then the vast majority doesn't have a grasp of the English language.
Also true.

One thing that liberal and conservative writers have in common is that they like to put food on their plates. Without mentioning the DeSantis thing, this story won’t get traction. Even Steve wants that moolah.
