I'm not sure whose argument this supports, but I have a Master's Degree from Stetson and it was a complete joke of a program that I only did to get the necessary credits to take the CPA exam.

If some want to leave the company because they don't want to move, fine. WDW is the big resort in the US and all of the Immagineers should be based in Florida. WDW never received the support from California based Disney and now with this move will finally receive propper support and love. If this causes some to leave the company it only proves they didn't care about WDW.

TWDC has never been focused from a management level on Florida…and it’s very unlikely the new guy would be either.

nobody really seems to like the one “New York guy” who became the champion of Florida anymore.

Disney has their “own” MBA training…no upfront cost and you don’t get a degree…and they conveniently deduct it over time from your pay👍🏻
One item that can't be deducted from ones pay is a vacation at WDW for the cast. Free park tickets for themselves and family and not having to stay in overpriced shoebox hotel rooms and instead sleeping in the comfort of one's home.

You WORK there…and the perks aren’t quite as good as they used to be lb for lb.

we’ll talk about it once you have time to get re-centered 😎

Pretty sure he's talking about Eisner, who many people miss now (including me). If you were a fan of WDW, you had no greater ally in the company than Michael.

The one "New York guy" was his successor, Bob Iger.
They both were…

one has a more impressive Hollywood resume…but thought more East coast

the other worked more on the East coast…but hid in LA as ceo and rarely left…so he could maintain his base layer.

does going to sun valley count as “leaving”? 🤔

Of course they do…

…does that mean it’s open door policy?

the best math schools straddle the Charles River…doesn’t mean you have to graduate from one to use a calculator in Boston.

You said UCF…that’s good 👍🏻
A guy drops his 20 items at the "10 Items or less" checkout line in the middle of Cambridge MA.
Woman at the register: "You must be a college student from around here."
Guy: "Why yes, I am. How did you know?"
Woman at the register: "Well, you're either from Harvard and can't count, or from MIT and can't read"

No…he’s small fish.

there were 2 CEOs that were native New Yorkers .
one threw most of his time and energy increasing wdw by 2/3…
…the other sat on that and started bleeding it for 10 years
Seems like the most influential , successful , risk taking etc in business and other areas are native New Yorkers . I know one fact that New Yorkers/NYC don't walk, they speedwalk.

I didn't ask about those. I asked about replacement creative opportunities. And the unemployment system which we saw crash and burn only 18 months ago. My Dad's lived in Winter Garden for 16 years, so I am aware of the rest. But schools, roads, housing and taxes don't pay the bills.
It’s not every day that the government decides to shut the economy down.
Oh I'm sure the poor education that could have weighed into CA cast declining the move to the Lake Nona location just a few miles away from the MCO airport runways. Factor in 3K miles away from other family, no longer the generally mild hardly any rain weather of Southern CA, hurricane season every year, food offerings ( comparing the diverse food including ethnic of So-Cal to Orlando is no comparison ) etc could have weighed in. But without a doubt the Central FL housing is nicer, cheaper, newer and probably bigger as long one lives a safer neighborhood,, compared to expensive Orange and LA County in CA. The ones who retire with big nest eggs were the ones perhaps who had their money work harder than they do ( ie real estate, stock market investor ). Some I know who went that route all have something in common in a quote - "The food in Central FL does not compare to where I used to live". The construction going is how many more strip malls, fast food places, apt complexes, can Central FL build out to keep up with the many moving to FL every single week. In regards to overcrowding of schools is rent out make shift trailers to put the overflowing students in. In 2017, FL spending per pupil was $9K per student that ranks FL near the bottom at 45th of 50 states but Friday night lights ( ie high school football is king ) with a number of D1 college football stars playing all over the country hailing from FL particularly from inner city Miami which is a hotbed of football talent.
FL’s public schools rank way ahead of CA’s and spend only a fraction of what CA spends per student.

Having no experience with California's education product but extensive with Florida's that is very surprising to me.
I do agree that Florida spends very little on education, never though we got our money's worth though.

In 2019 CA schools spent $12K per student and ranked 20th out of 50th states , better than FL.
I think this is going to be another “which report” do you believe, depending on the criteria we‘ll find very different results.

I did a quick Google search for School systems ranked by state and the first result (World population review) has FL ranked 22, CA 37… the next result was from us news and had CA ranked 4 and FL 6… the next was from WalletHub which has FL 18 and CA 41… the next was Insider which has FL 3 and CA 21… next was Forbes which had FL 26 and CA 37…

FL has higher average SAT scores, CA has higher averaged ACT scores…. Not sure how we’d actually determine which system is better.
