The timeframe was 10 years, how long has F&W been happening??If they played a part of theming around Food and Wine it’s a money maker for the park and ever growing.
And at Hollywood Studios. There is already a sizable office in Florida. It’s at Epcot. They started moving beyond just handling small projects over a decade ago.
The former Studio and Feature Animation offices? And at Hollywood Studios.
Approx 200 WDI cast were fired after the very disappointing release of Treasure Planet back in the day. Cast were based at MGM Studios. And at Hollywood Studios.
WDI had numerous cast in Orlando while Eisner was in charge. After the Treasure Planet movie dud, a good amount of them were fired.
Do you think Walt Disney Imagineering works on animated movies?Approx 200 WDI cast were fired after the very disappointing release of Treasure Planet back in the day. Cast were based at MGM Studios.
My error, I meant Animators.Do you think Walt Disney Imagineering works on animated movies?
I believe it's that general area. I couldn't put my finger on the exact office location. What's also interesting is that WDI has separate trailers as well, in addition to the office space. The former Studio and Feature Animation offices?
I think you are leaving out the AK trailer park in the making.I believe it's that general area. I couldn't put my finger on the exact office location. What's also interesting is that WDI has separate trailers as well, in addition to the office space.
Between DHS, Maingate, and Celebration there are a lot of back offices for Disney Corporate and other arms of the company.
Also The CA cast on temp assignment at WDW are taken care off. With the long hours day and night they put in their accommodations are at the resorts.I believe it's that general area. Disney still owns the land as of today through the DYNAMIC CAMPUS LLC subsidiary of which WALT DISNEY PARKS AND RESORTS U.S., INC. is the Authorized Member of.Does Disney still own the land?
Now that all of the fighting between Disney and the state is over, is Disney still keeping the land in case they decide to proceed with this?
I'm all in, selfishly, for WDI to move to Orlando so they can look at how out of shape our 4 parks are.
Land value is strong so no hardship to keep it.Since it's been a while, it's interesting that Disney still hasn't sold the land they had purchased in Lake Nona. I know they have until 2028 to develop the land before Tavistock can repurchase it. While the whole "moving WDI to the East Coast" seems dead, I wonder if they will potentially use it to consolidate their Orlando area offices like Maingate, Celebration, and Kirkman to one campus? Including using it as office space to allow for more expansion at HS.
For commercial real estate in the greater Orlando area?Land value is strong so no hardship to keep it.
They are not making any moreFor commercial real estate in the greater Orlando area?
While true, Orlando’s commercial property vacancy rate currently sits at 17 percent. CRE occupancy rates crashed everywhere post-pandemic and never really recovered. It was the inverse of residential property. They are not making any more
Think longer term, what if they want to use it in the future? Should they sell or develop now? Better to leave the options open with Florida's real estate fluctuations there are better times ahead to make a change. This is valuable land no matter if the market is down right nowWhile true, Orlando’s commercial property vacancy rate currently sits at 17 percent. Don't think Burbank execs want to live and work in the oppressive heat and humidity of FL and rather enjoy the beautiful year round low humidity weather of Southern CA.With the expansion in Asia, California is better located to remain HQ. But yes, ideally there are teams on both coasts.
