We were there last year in October and we thought it was ok. Not bad, but not awesome. We booked it due to finding a great deal on Travelocity. We ended up with a room that was literally as far from the Main Building as we could be. While the bus stop was just outside the building and was very convenient, we found wait times varied wildly. The walk to the Main Building is scenic, but can be long. We used the internal shuttle a fair amount. Our room was nice but dated. There were conferences going on during our entire stay, which, while not an issue for us, sort of seemed to take away a lot of the vacation "feel" you get at other resorts. We dined at the Pepper Market twice, but didn't make it to Maya Grill. We felt the menu offerings didn't justify the price and the wait times. The Pepper Market food was mediocre at best. We found the concept wonky and the food was generally precooked and heated to serve. Granted, some things like breakfast are made to order. Service seemed slow and was understaffed both times we were there. The waits to be seated were long and chaotic. The experience was bad enough on our last day that several managers appeared at breakfast to help manage the lines (40 people waiting to be sat at an empty food court concept). We spoke with a manager about the clunky concept and was told it's based on the needs of convention attendees and was being reviewed. He acknowledged it was going to be re-worked at some point in the future. I would consider it the low point of the resort. The QSR/Snack area, Café Rix, was great. Lots of choices and good sandwiches.
All in all, it's a nicely themed resort, but if I had my choice of moderates, I would be at Port Orleans any time over CSR. We just didn't find the dining options as appealing as we had expected, and the overall feel of the place wasn't to our liking. I think the only way we would consider another stay there would be at a deep discount, and to be honest, I would still be reluctant.
