We are Beach Club people and absolutely love that resort. I am thinking of trying something new this year and staying at the Boardwalk Inn. We do like to venture over and have the girls hairbraided at the Boardwalk, but have never thought of staying there. What will I love about the Boardwalk? Thanks in advance for your comments

You will love (in my opinion) the room decor and ambiance of the resort. It's our favorite. The room set-up is the same as at the Beach Club, just different decor.

As someone that JUST stayed at the Beach Club for the first time after staying at the Boardwalk on 3 trips, be aware that there's no counter service IN the Boardwalk Inn itself (and I know you started the thread asking about what they serve in the pool bar...I can't remember). For breakfast we usually go to the Boardwalk Bakery, but boy, was it nice having the Beach Club Marketplace right there. Also be aware that the bus to the Magic Kingdom is shared with the Swan and Dolphin - Yacht and Beach has their own, as you know - and all of the Epcot resorts share the bus to Animal Kingdom as usual. We normally just hop off the bus at whatever the first stop is and walk the rest of the way.

Have a great trip!

I happen to prefer the Beach Club over the Boardwalk because at the Beach Club the pool can't be beat and your restaurants and shops are all in the hotel, but that's my personal preference.

At the Boardwalk the restaurants and shops are located outside on the boardwalk. What I do like about the Boardwalk is that all the night time activity is right outside your door and the quiet pool and hot tub are located in an inner courtyard which is nice and quiet. The Boardwalk Inn hotel side is located to the left when you are facing the entrance from the boardwalk and the dvc side is to the right and the larger pool with the slide is on the right. The rooms at Boardwalk are lovely as well and I just love being in that area overall, it's a great location.

There is a small bar in the Inn itself (just off of the main lobby) which opens each evening. In the morning it is a continental breakfast venue where you are able to purchase pastries and coffee.

I know I am not the official poster but thanks for the info, we will be staying there for the first time this summer, and looking forward to it, but its good to know this sort of information since it would not have crossed my mind before this.

Thank you.

The Boardwalk is my favorite resort on the property, mostly because of the great atmosphere there. There's always a lot going on, and it's a fun place to hang out. Of course, you can't beat the pool at Yacht and Beach, but I don't think the atmosphere over at Boardwalk can be topped. I also love the fact that it's luxorious without seeming pretentious.

Thanks for all the replies. I am sure that we will like the Boardwalk if we stay there, just hope that we don't miss the Beach Club too much:)

Really? I had no idea! I mean, I knew that the Belle Vue Lounge was there, but I had no idea about the continental breakfast. And sure enough, here it is. Thank you!

We stayed at the Boardwalk for the first time this past August. I feel in love with the resort and the area. It did take some getting use to not having a quick servce location inside and the fact that when you went for refills from the bakery they would not fill your cup...they gave you a to go cup (same for coffee and hot tea). When going to the gift shop in the afternoon and it was rouring was also something that had to deal with but...over all I can deal with these 2 things. I just loved the mood and feel of the resort and the area. I think we have found our 2 GOTO resorts. One year WL then next trip BWI....and that will be perfect for us!!!!

Since the proximity to Epcot is a non Issue with the resorts then you need to look at other factors. I stayed at the Boardwalk for the first time in August and I loved it but that was mostly because I could walk to Epcot. I enjoyed the pool but I would love to use the Beach Clubs pools because there is no comparison then. I really did not have the time to experience the whole Boardwalk feel. Heck the only time i was actually on the Boardwalk was during daylight hours. I am the type of person who would love to try as many resorts as people but I always have my favorites. Every few years I will try a new one, that way I can always go back to my favorite the next trip.

I agree 100%. We have stayed in a lot of Disney Resorts and this one tops the list. Some of the best cast members on property, too!

The BoardWalk Inn lobby and all Resort common spaces are a lot more decorated than over at the Beach Club. There are so many nooks and rooms to just relax in if you explore, especially near the elevators and at end of hallways.

I think you will like BoardWalk Inn more. Except for the lack of Stormalong Bay.

If you can afford a BoardWalk/Lake View, pay for it. If you request a Garden View, request to be in the Main Building. Rooms overlook beautiful manicured rose gardens and are very near to the quiet pool and the entrance to the boardwalk down below.

I can only vouch for the beach club...but I think you will enjoy either resort. You cant beat staying on the boardwalk. The resorts themselves seem very similar, but the Beachclub market place is a real convenience
