@wdwmagic any idea if this will be maintained during busy Thanksgiving and Christmas weeks? The Safari cuts are the biggest surprise because of its popularity.

I shudder to think at what else is coming for the slow winter months.

You're reading too much into it. We return to standard time on November 4. That's right around sunset anyway.

But closing an hour and a half before the park closes means the other rides are going to have increased wait times.

That park was absolutely slammed last week. They keep boohooing about less attendance and then cut backs everywhere etc but Im not seeing why its necessary. Something seems off.

There's a mad rush for Pandora at opening, the rest of the park is walk-on/empty, just trimming some stuff back in the morning that has little to no visitors anyways until after they get through Pandora.

If this was the only cut back, I doubt it would be so interesting. This seems to be a part of a much larger pattern. Check out the other thread in the OP for some details on that. Marie

I would guess it's probably due to the time change november 4 and it getting darker much earlier. Just seems to affect the animal attractions so that makes sense.

Might as well close the rest of the park until all visitors have experienced Pandora. Then they can be free to "go to the zoo."

Disney's Animal Kingdom is many things but it's "Nahtazu"!! (Those who first visited WDW after 2006 won't get the reference.)

The week im there before thanksgiving...there was always one ROL show scheduled but now there's a second one added for the week.
