My family was picked to open the MK yesterday 
We arrived at the park about 7:45AM for a 9AM opening. We were talking to a CM at one of the turnstiles when another CM approached us and asked us where we were from. He then asked us to come with him. He took us to a bench and had us wait for someone to pick us up. He also gave my kids (2 and 5) autograph books and pens. He also gave us an official certificate. We then were picked up by the CM who drives the old fashion fire truck. He drove us to Toon Town (we all loved driving down Main Street when no one is in the park). We parked by the train station in Toon Town and waited for Mickey and other characters to come out. Mickey, Chip & Dale, Pluto, Alice, Mad Hatter, Snow White, Mary Poppins and Bert, Stitch, Clarabelle and Horace. Our certificate was signed by all characters that morning. We got all the pictures we wanted before getting back on the train. Mickey sat with us on the train. My son and daughter loved it. When it was time to open the park the train pulled up and we saw all the Main Street performers singing and dancing. We then got off the train and saw all the people. What an incredible feeling. It is so different being up there and looking down at everyone taking pictures, waving, and filming the whole thing. We then threw the pixie dust and wave to everyone when the park official opened. We then got one more special picture with Mickey on the ramp that leads down from the train station. We also learned that a Disney photographer was taking pictures of us the whole time. It was incredible. One in a million. My family and I will treasure this moment forever. Everyone should get a chance to experience this at least once in their lives.
