Without having lived up where there are piles and piles of snow, I don't think you can REALLY appreciate some of those points.

Mom was right. I do appreciate things more now. (But she still could have bought me that sports car when I was seventeen. ;))

Yes, perspective is everything. I lived in Connecticut for 4 years and couldn't get back down to FL fast enough. I remember sliding through snow on the drive to work, getting out of my car, and grumbling, "This @#%^ doesn't happen in Florida!" :p

As I sloshed through the slush in the grocery store parking lot today, with snow falling on me, I cursed this God-forsaken state and thought about how many days until I could go back to Florida. :) floridians never deal with this crap! (Unless they are stupid or desperate enough to come up here, lol.)

Florida is just a much nicer place to live. :)

Loved the link!

The footwear is so true! Is this why I have such an aversion to dressing up??? Fancy to me is a cute Lilly dress & sandals!

We had 2 orange trees and a tangerine tree in our yard. Not picking orange blossoms is torture for little girls!

Loved the shorts drawers. That one is still true for me.

Yep, totally freaks people out that I'm 38 & can count the number of times I've seen snow on 1 hand. What's worse??? I've only ever seen 1 basement in my entire life. LOL!

Disagree with slow drivers. I have always had zero patience for slow movers. Yes, I got my permit & license in Florida. Yes, we had to parallel park in drivers ed. No, I've never taken an actual driving test. I got a good grade in drivers ed & scored the waiver.

Dates at the putt-putt golf! That's true!

6th grade camp out at Wekiwa Springs park looking at gators, snakes, lizards, etc. was fun!

Field trips to places like Epcot, Sea World, etc. totally rocked!

Being a local with passes to the many parks was totally boss. Love love love that I had those years!!!

Even though you are a Gator (Nole girl here) I will say you are redemed.
While I did not grow up in Florida I have been here for quite a few years and am raising my daughter here and that list cracked me up. For DD so far #s 3,9,13 (well FSU), 27, 28, 31, 34, 35, 36, 40, 42, and 43. She's well on her way.
DH is from Miami so the whole list for him, lol

You know what, that actually ended ALOT better than I had anticipated. I tried to diffuse it early and it got locked almost immediately without much fanfare or hurled insults.
I haven't been on here long enough to see how bad things can get (or so I hear), but if that's the case, then I'm glad it got shut down when it did. Thanks for that perspective, Pooh! Thanks for trying to diffuse it, and from what I gather, it seems like Admin saved my hide (and pride!) :)

Sweet pea, you're so- SWEET! Glad you liked the link. Speaking of #18, here's a little gem that popped up on Facebook a while back. Pics from our Grad Night in 2000 :)
