Online ADRs

Although I'm all for the convenience, If this is an actual online ADR system where you can book reservations online. I can see it now...people booking up TONS of reservations and then selling them on eBay scalper style..it already happens with Ticket master and that requires some monetary funding in the beginning...another example of the slimey few in the world screwing it all up for the rest of us.

I just booked California Grill for July 4 weekend using online ADR. It's a 50th wedding anniversary dinner for my folks.

They require a credit card guaranty for the reservation but did not charge anything immediately when I made the reservation. If you cancel within less than 24 hours or no-show, they will bill the card $20 per person on the original reservation.

The whole process took less than 5 minutes to complete and when I chose one day that wasn't available, it suggested multiple other restaurants that were available on the date and time i initially chose. I was able to switch to the next night and it worked just fine.

In order to complete the "checkout", you need to give your name, email address and phone number - and if you are going for the 90+10, you need to have associated your room reservation number with the system...

If 50 people show up at Le Cellier and all of their names are John Smith with the same email address and phone number, I am sure that Disney will catch on...

I just booked chef mickeys for 8 am on july 5th, all it asked for was email, name and a number to contact me at, is this enough, i feel like i should ring to make sure it is booked, it seems almost too easy

Does anyone know yet if you still have to wait till 7am on your 90 day? Anyone tried before 7am?
I'll have to play with it a bit before my ADR day on 7/4.

The system seems to be resting and opening up a 7:00 am just like the phones however we will not know for sure until tomorrow morning.

I guess it just wouldn't be fair to let anyone jump in early.
I wonder if the system moves slow, or has problems early morning, when so many people are trying to use it. (or will as people learn about it)
Right now is a good time, not too many people know about the online ADRs yet, I would think.

That's my brother's 90 day too, I've been helping him narrowing down his choices. So please let us know what you find out about this.
Although he's been numerous times this is their 1st time staying on property and using DDP.

Tomorrow is my 90 day mark. I'm going to stay up unitl midnight just to give it a try. I'll let everyone know how it goes. I called Disney dining to ask about it and the cm and her supervisor didn't even know it was up and running. She asked me to make a reservation on line so she could see how it worked. I made one for the day before we needed it and she could see it in her system right away. Then she canceled it for me so I wouldn't wast an ADR someone else might need. I didn get an email confirmation as well.

FYI for upcoming ADR's

If you use this system I would change your times around. If you are looking for an early breakfast for CRT and you want the earliest time available, don't just put in 8:00 a.m. and except that a 9:20 is the earliest available. Try inputting 8:15 & 8:30 as well. I did this when playing around with it and when I put in 8:00 a.m. for Tusker House it said nothing was available on 9/14, but when I put in 8:30, it said a 9:15 a.m. was available.

Also try inputting a different number of guest...very interesting here. I just tried for early breakfast as CP in MK and when I inputted 8:00 a.m. for 2 guest it said earliest availabe is 9:00 a.m., but when I changed the guest to 4 it now says an 8:15 a.m. is available  You would think it would work the opposite way, that inputting a lesser number of people would give you more benefit.

Toystorymaniacs, I'm curious if you had any luck or if you had to wait until 7 am???

If you've seen the ticketmaster scalpers at work, it'd be very easily done to Disney ADRs. All they gotta do is change the names when someone "buys" a reservation, and CC number (which may not even be valid). Anyway it's a possibility of happening and I don't want to see it happen.

It's great at long last online ADR's. This is great for international vistors who can afford to spend an hour on an international call to make ADR's.

Good choice for breakfast, you'll love the food and get loads of photos with the characters. You got a reservations number for your ADR so you'll be ok. You can always check your ADR at your resort when you check-in and they will give you a print-out of all your ADR's.

I've heard that Disney may be implementing credit card holds on all restaurants eventually to prevent this from happening.

Not going to happen. Even with people no showing for their reservations, Disney is not loosing money, and there is no reason for Disney to do this other than pacify a small group of vocal people on the internet. If someone no shows then someone else will get that table, whether they are a walk up or have a reservation already. With all the free dining going on Disney may actually be saving some money when it comes to no shows.
