Trip Report One way or Another..........

It has been quite a few years since I've been to Disney for a full week. I've been there for a day here, two days there but I really missed a full week at Disney. When your first born says lets go to Disney, you make it happen. We just returned, and the best way for me to process getting back to regular life is to do a trip report, so here we go.

Me and Em
October 19-25th

1.jpg

Our flight was leaving at 7:00 am, and it made for a very early morning since we had a two hour drive to the airport. We got on the road at 3:30 and we landed at MCO around 9:30 am. We got an Uber, and Oster was great. He even slowed down so I could get this most coveted picture.

2.jpg

I let Em pick a lot of the details for this trip, one being the mistake of picking our resort. I was willing to pay for a moderate, but she really wanted to stay at POP. sigh~, what can I do..... She loves it

We requested the 60's or 70's building and got a room in the 70's. Our room was ready when we arrived around 10:30 am. Our room was on the first floor and faced an inner courtyard. Mostly quiet, except we could hear the room above us when they were getting ready in the morning or returning at night. They weren't rude or being overly loud. It's what you pay for I guess.

We unpacked and decided we'd rather hop on the skyliner and find lunch rather than go to Typhoon Lagoon. We got off at the Caribbean resort. Their Cuban sandwich wasn't too bad. I'd get it again. We then stopped at Riviera to see the murals in person and eat the "best" cookie at Disney.

6.jpg

7.jpg

8.jpg

I have to say, I didn't think the Riviera Signature cookie was the best cookie on property. I would give it a C.

Em has a fear of birds. This gets mentioned in all of my reports since there are birds everywhere at Disney. Luckily for her, this bird was quite a distance from us, but she made sure to point it out and comment about what it was doing. Then, to our horror, it snatched a little lizard for lunch.

Our early morning was catching up with us so we decided to go back to the room and take a break before heading to Disney Spring for the evening.

I honestly said it can't get any better than this. Sometimes thoughts are better left unsaid; once they are out there, who knows what's going to happen.

Tuesday October 21st - Epcot day!

We got up and everything was fine. Today for bounding we were Pooh and Piglet!

This part is depressing you may want to skip over it. 😒 Shortly after getting in line for the Skyliner, I just didn't feel quite right. I'll spare you the details of TMI but I was having some serious issues. We make it to International Gateway and then head to Remy's for rope drop. The movement takes my mind off of how bad my body is feeling. You can tell I'm not feeling my normal self. Isn't that the fakest, I'm having fun smile you've ever seen.

After Remy's we take a break then head to Sunshine Seasons to get me something to eat. One bit and no... We were starting to get into our LL times, we went to a Guest Experience umbrella and asked if they could move our LL to a later time, I wanted to go back to the room to lay down. He was a fantastic CM and got all our LL's moved. He suggested I head over to first aid instead of all the walking and skyliner transfer and blah blah blah. Yep, that's me. Lying in first aid... at Disney.

I really felt bad about Emily but she ended up having a nice solo time while I rested. Here are the pictures she sent me of her adventures.View attachment 890577

She said that this Spam Hash from the Hawaii booth was the best dish she had for Food and Wine.
I'm so sorry you felt ill, but how considerate of that CM to suggest that you rest in First Aid and let Em get some park time, rather than see you both go back to your room. And really, if you're not feeling well, first aid is a great place to be looked after.

I'm glad you felt better later in the day.

That stinks that you weren't feeling well. It's nice that Em enjoyed some of her solo time but I'm sure she missed you.

I'm so happy she went out on her own for a bit. I was feeling bad that me being sick affected her Disney time but glad I could have some down time to get better
That stinks feeling ill at Disney. Glad to see you made a rebound!

Me too. A sick day at Disney is better than a healthy day at work. 😆

All the CM's I dealt with were great! If I was feeling better I would've thought to get their information and left a Cast Compliment.

I’m glad you started to feel better! I love your Piglet outfit; I need to remember that one because that looks like a fairly easy one to do (and with clothes I probably already own or if I don’t, with clothes I would wear again,)

Thank you! Piglet was so comfy. a simple dress with built in shorts and tank top. I got the ears off of Amazon but it was just some very stiff felt and hair clips, and I'm sure they could be made fairly easily.

Epcot cont...

After Living with the Land we went on Soarin. How many time have you ridden Soarin? In the video has anyone noticed the couple after the guy with the "little beauties"? They are wearing goggles! 😆

34.jpg

We stopped by Nemo

31.jpg

35.jpg

I was excited to stop by Moana's Journey of Water. It was a bit crowed so we didn't play with the water much. I was planning on coming back but we never made it. I've seen a lot better pictures then the ones I have but here they are anyway.

It was time for our Guardians LL. We waited 10-15 minutes. And our song was..... One way or Another! It is such a good song for the ride. Not as good as I Ran but so much better than Everybody Want to Rule the World. Don't worry, I let @Darstarr know on Instagram.

We gave the ride two thumbs up. The ladies riding with us were so fun to ride with. They were screaming and singing as loud as we were.

It was close to 7:00 pm and Em is hungry. We stopped by Connections Eatery so Em could get something to eat. I was feeling good but had no appetite. She got the Margherita Pizza and the Passion Fruit Cream Slush. She enjoyed both. We then stopped by and got a dessert she wanted to try. The Pineapple Cheese Cake.
3.jpg

16.jpg

We walked around World Show Case a little bit then I got a second chance at Remy's today. :)

Next, we did something we have never done. The Disney Pixar Shorts. It was about 8:40 and we were two of six people in the theater. Em was pleasantly surprised to watch Piper again. That was one of her favorite shorts from years ago.

India has the best Food and Wine food! The Samosa's and Chicken Marsala was so good. I ate them both but only have a pic of the Samosa's

13.jpg

What I just recently learned from Tuvalu is that only ride photos are included with LL's whereas the photopass photos have to be bought but we were unaware at the time. We saw a photopass photographer in the UK and had her take our pictures to find out if they were included.. She was amazing, and all our pictures were great.

It was 9:00 and Luminous was starting. We were a few rows deep right at the entrance of World Showcase. I really didn't mind. We just listened, danced, Em took videos. It was a memorable time.

After Luminous, we headed to the International Gateway to catch the Skyliner back to POP. The line was all the way to the Y for Beach Club and Boardwalk. We decided to walk to Beachclub and get an Uber back. Best decision of the day!

So this day didn't go as planned. No one likes to get sick at Disney, and I definitely caught something. Every morning was a struggle, but by afternoon, I felt pretty good. The bad thing was I didn't really have an appetite all week and that sucks during Food and Wine. Even though I wasn't feeling great, we still got up first thing in the morning and headed out. We did have a tour with Behind the Seeds that we had to cancel and I was really bummed about it but what can you do.

When picking a title for this report, I asked EM for ideas and this is what I got:
Pepto and Me: The Disney Chronicles
Pepto: Because I didn't feel the best-o
Disney 2025: Pepto Extravaganza

I went with One Way or Another - It was a great new song to have for Guardians, and we got it both times we rode it. And, I was at Disney, I don't care how bad I felt in the morning, I was going to have a great time - One way or Another!

It's Wednesday Rest Day!

We slept in a bit and headed out around 10ish. We hopped on a bus to Magic Kingdom to get a boat to Fort Wilderness to eat at Crocket's Tavern. They have the elusive Fried Green Tomato sandwich that is no longer at The Plaza. And if you are going to be at Fort Wilderness who wouldn't want to go say hi to some Disney Horses!

There were two ladies earning their ears and they talked to us for quite awhile about the horses and where they work around the property. The horse barn is just past Crockets Tavern, Hoop Dee Doo review and very easily walkable from the boat launch.

As we were leaving we sat at the tables at the beach to wait for the next boat. As soon as we sat this bird landed right next to us and kept squawking. He did not like us sitting there and Em did not like him. She got up and decided to wait for the boat on the dock. 😆

5.jpg

Well... Em's Fried Green tomato sandwich.....

11.jpg

I had made notes on our outings for the day in the early planning stage of our trip, and never went back to double check.... Crocket Tavern opens at 3:00, it was Tri Circle D Ranch that opened at 10:00 😬 Luckily, Em is easy going and wasn't upset.

We had an appointment to get to, so back to MK to catch a bus to Coronado.

We had signed up for the Mosaic Art, it is $35 each, and was at Dahlia Lounge. You get to choose from a few shapes and can choose back or white stone and grout. I only have pictures of these, she started packing up the display before I thought to take a picture.

13.jpg

I chose the white Mickey and Em chose the white flower. It was fun and something new. We both enjoyed it. It ended up taking about 2 hours.

Afterwards we were pretty hungry from missing our planned early lunch. We walked around Coronado to find their quick service and had nothing to exciting, just Chicken Strips and Fries. They have a beautiful seating area outside by the water. It was very peaceful. And the art around Coronado is random but I loved it.

After Art Class we had an Uber take us back to POP. It was around 3:00 and I have yet to have any pool time. We decided to skip the chaos of the main pool and headed to the "quiet" pool by the 90's buildings. Just look at that crowd!!

31.jpg

32.jpg

Em preferred her Kindle and a lounger.

34.jpg

My veins are getting thinner. It took me quite a few minutes to adjust to the warm water.

36.jpg

35.jpg

I swam around and soaked up some sun for about an hour. We then had plans with a Pig......

37.jpg

Our first stop in Disney Springs was Polite Pigs. I specifically gave many options, but mentioned Polite Pig multiple times.

I got the half Chicken with Brussels sprouts, Em chose the Pork Shoulder and Street Corn. Our drinks were the Polite Punch and Grapefruit Margarita. Our mains and drinks were fantastic. Our side...meh. Em didn't care for the corn and the brussel sprouts were ok but mine are better.

45.jpg

46.jpg

We stopped into World of Disney to buy some sweatshirts. We found a few that we really liked and I wanted something that didn't scream Disney so I could wear it all the time, not just in the Disney bubble.

We then finally made it back to Gideons. There was quite a line, but this is something Em really wanted to do. Time went by fast, and there was plenty of music and people watching to keep us entertained.

What a great rest day!! Great tip on the mosaics. Who knew?? My daughter would love it! Plus, a great keepsake!

Your art work turned out lovely!!

It really was fun to do. I think in the busier season they have the mosaic art at multiple resorts and on specific days. For some reason I was thinking there was only one or two resorts in October.

Inside Gideons. This was fun to see, but I'm fine if I walk on by next time. If one of the girls wanted to go in, I would but, just me.... no.

We headed to the bus and got to watch some fireworks on the ride home.

Always take a different route to your room, you never know what you'll find!

56.jpg

And lastly, we both tried our cookies. I got the plain old chocolate chip, and it was really good. I did peel off half of the chips, but it was good. I think I ate a quarter of it. Em got the Dark Coffee Cake Cookie. She liked hers too. Mine made the trip home, and I did eventually eat it, but I think it was in about 4 different settings.

I’m pretty sure that they do - I think I could have done it at either POR or POFQ this summer, but the day/time didn’t work out for us. We did do the tie-die t-shirt on our second to last day and I have fond memories each time I put it on.
