As part of the World Showcase area in WDW’s new second gate, Egypt exists in the plot of land between Japan and France (Morocco doesn’t exist here). In the back area of the pavilion is Journey Down the Nile, a boat dark ride themed to the country’s culture (El Rio del Tiempo also doesn’t exist here). Also come see a show titled “The Great Land of Egypt“, which is a 30 minute show on the history of this fascinating country, from King Tut’s era to modern-day (it’s located inside a replica of the Great Pyramids). Also, you can dine at Carter’s, which is a table-service restaurant located inside the Great Pyramid. You can also just get some Egyptian souvenirs at Cairo Curios to take home with you.
Right off the bat Egypt is a great pick for World Showcase, and is often seen in various proposals with that said I think your take is still unique! Your two attractions help to portray Egypt in a very EPCOT way that matches with what as available to guests on opening day. The utilization of the Pyramids was a great move, and I'm sure would be a hit with guests!
ST. MAARTEN PAVILION:

World Showcase needs more paradise, I think St. Maarten will be perfect for new pavilion because the island
was so beautiful with nice tropical village, romantic beaches, a view of mountains. There will be two attractions such as
Saint Martin of Tours (a indoor water ride based on
Christopher Columbus as the guests on the seven voyages of the seas), a wind simulation called
Airport Wind Up take places on Princess Juliana International Airport which you are about to blow away as a jet was about to take off to take a flight. You can also have eat at the cafe at the beach area as paradise drinks and foods such as wine, fruits and juices. This will be sponsored by Air France.
St. Marteen is a surprising choice, not many people would choose it when they go with Epcot projects. With that said I'm glad you did, I think the unique location plays into your favor as it allows to stand apart from many other proposals. I think both attractions highlight Saint Martin's history of old while reflecting the popular tourist destination it has become. The beachside café is also unique given the lack of waterfront dining on the World Showcase Lagoon in 1982 when compared to the modern day. With all that said it seems like the pavilion focuses mostly on the French side of the island, while the pavilion is a reference towards the Dutch name: Sint Maarten. All of this in mind this is some really nice work, good job this challenge!
NEW YORK CITY PAVILION:

New York City Pavilion will be perfect addition for World Showcase and will be sponsored by Amtrak, as you know New York City is perfect ironic landmark in United States, you can visit
Empire State Building, minisize Times Square will be for shopping and restaurants well as
New Year's Eve countdown on every December 31st, as tribute to 9/11 as you will enter
World Trade Center, you can eat hotdogs as drink coffee just like visiting NYC, a subway simulator called
New York City Subway System as you can riding subway through New York City's subway system, as minisize Central Park as the guests will enjoy the nature of happiness, a helicopter simulator ride called
Chopper Tours will take soaring over New York City. In every Thanksgiving, there will be minisize
Macy's Thanksgiving Parade as Santa Claus at end of the parade. A big Christmas tree will be added at the pavilion every December. Also the guests will experience to see
the Statue of Liberty. Or you can visit the ironic museum to see living things come out pictures and statues come alive for
Night at the Museum dark ride. Or you'll join adventures with musical Joe as his soul life in
Lost in Soul dark ride based on Disney/Pixar's Soul.
NYC is a surprising inclusion but given that cities and states had their own pavilion at the 1964-5 World's Fair it is not unheard of! I think as presented this is a good modern day representation of NYC for a theme park however the challenge called for the pavilions to open in 1982 alongside the rest of the original World Showcase pavilions which would mean things like the 9/11 memorial alongside the Night at the Museum and Lost in Soul attractions not being possible yet. Lastly may I suggest instead of minisize the word miniature or the term scaled down as I think it's what you meant to say possibly? All that said NYC is still a neat concept, and tackles every iconic NYC thing.
HAWAII:

Hawaii is a beautiful island in United States, it will be great addition for World Showcase and be sponsored by Hawaiian Airlines, the pavilion will have nice foods, as dancing hawaii hulas as hawaiian music too. There will be three attractions one is
Pearl Harbor Attack as the guests are in the World War II as japanese planes attacked the Pearl Harbor as navy ships sinking as people are being killed by japanese people. The attraction will be Circle Vision called
Hawaii Dreams will featuring all learning from Hawaii such as O'ahu, Maui, Kaua'i, Moloka'i,
Lānaʻi, and more. You can almost surfing experience as to learn surf like in Hawaii. The finale one is
Volcano Blast as the people will watch the volcano will go erupting as special effects such as fire, smokes, water, and more. Also Lilo and Stitch will be meet & greets with the guests too.
Like with NYC Hawaii is a bit unorthodox however given its long history of independence and cultural differences I could have seen it getting an opening day pavilion. I think the Pearl Harbor Attack is in really poor taste, and not something Disney would do given how sensitive an issue Pearl Harbor is. I do think Hawaii Dreams and Volcano Blast are better suited for Epcot, and a Disney park providing the Disney magic guests expect.
NORTH KOREA:
View attachment 564353
North Korea is most dangerous nation in the world as I think this will be pavilion as World Showcase should deal with it, as originally Kim Jong-sung who was the founder and first supreme leader of North Korea from its establishment in 1948 until his death in 1994 until Kim Jong-il takes over in 1994 until 2011 as he passed away, but his second son Kim Jong-un takes over in 2011. He wanted to war on America since his grandfather and his father was dealing war with America since 1950s and 1990s. North Korea uses nuclear weapons prepare to war on America, but never gives up, but wait until the future waits as North Korea will finally peace to America. Two attractions will be the History of North Korea and North Korea's Nuclear Program. The statues will be supreme leaders such as Kim Jong-il, Kim Jong-sung and Kim Jong-un.
So uh this wouldn't happen for obvious reasons, but I think you know that
Ironically Kim Jong-Un would likely love this given how public he is when it comes to his love for Disney.
G'day, mate! There's a lot to do at this pavilion based on the Land Down Under - for example, you can visit the Sydney Opera House and catch a showing of
Across Australia, a Circle-Vision show that takes guests on a tour of the continent. Or, you can hop in a jeep and travel through the bush, coming face to face with singing kangaroos, koalas, echidnas, dingoes, and other Australian wildlife on the whimsical dark ride
Outrageous Outback Safari. Shops boast a selection of plush koalas, t-shirts, digeridoos, and more. There's a lot to do, and a lot of fun to be had, here.
G'day
@Brer Panther ! Much like
@Disney Warrior 's project Australia is a popular pavilion talked about, and I think you also handled it really well with your own unique take on things. Across Australia sounds like a logical attraction for the pavilion, and would fit right in with the rest of the park's films. Housing it in the Opera House was a smart play as well. Outrageous Outback Safari sounds like a really fun attraction that would likely be a hit with guests on opening day given the lack of dark rides in the World Showcase.
SWEDEN
View attachment 564345
This geographically small nation is well known for being extremely environmentally friendly, and implementing successful social welfare programs. But Sweden is also a large exporter of pop music, and they’re proud of it! Here at the Sweden pavilion, guests can enjoy a pop music review featuring the work of artists such as ABBA, Roxette, Europe, and in later years going on to include Ace of Bass, The A*Teens, and Millencolin. Additionally, Swedish auto manufacturer Volvo presents an Autopia style ride through the Swedish countryside. And of course, a restaurant serving up delightful delicacies, including world famous Swedish meatballs.
Sweden is a great choice for a pavilion given their rich culture, and history. This is represented in your take of the pavilion of the pavilion with the pop revue and of course the culinary culture. The Volvo Autopia ride is also a no brainer, and would be popular for years to come if modern day Autopia and Tomorrowland Speedway has taught us anything. I also like how you explicitly mentioned the later years which adds a little bonus, and insight for the pavilion's future.
THAILAND PAVILION
View attachment 564387
As part of Epcot Center’s opening day lineup of pavilions dedicated to represent authentically the countries around the world, there will be a pavilion inspired by the beautiful landscapes and culture of Thailand, which will be located between the Germany and the Italy pavilions.
This magnificent pavilion will be sponsored by Siam Cement Group, the largest and oldest cement and building materials company in Thailand and Southeast Asia, which was founded in 1913.
Thailand is a fast emerging economy in Southeast Asia, with a strong tourism sector and a rich culture that would not only add more diversity to the countries already announced to be featured at World Showcase, but it will also bring a much needed diversified representation of Asia, that tends to only focus on East Asia, while ignoring the rest of the continent.
One of the landmarks of the Thailand Pavilion will be a building inspired by the beautiful architecture of the temples that can be found in Thailand, like Wat Ratchabophit Sathitmahasimaram Ratchaworawihan, which will feature inside a walkthrough exposition about the history and culture of Thailand.
And finally, at the Thailand Pavilion, guests will be able to find some of the most delicious Thai dishes like Massaman Curry, Pad Woon Sen, Tom Yum Goong and more; additionally, guests will also be able to buy beautiful clothing made of Thai Silk, handmade bags, wood carvings and more products made by talented people of Thailand!
Thailand is a great choice for World Showcase at it represent Southeast Asia, a region that currently has little to no representation even during the Food & Wine festivals. The pavilion is also vastly different from the others when it comes to architecture aiding it to further add to the World Showcase. While this pavilion contains no huge attraction such as a film or ride it still contains a walkthrough experience, which is very on brand for early EPCOT. The dining and shopping is fleshed out, and distinct from the rest of opening and modern day EPCOT. Great job!
ETHIOPIA
View attachment 564633
Step foot inside the enchanting African nation of Ethiopia, where the beauty of nature and jaw-dropping human achievements exist harmoniously side-by-side in the Cradle of Humanity.
The Ethiopia Pavilion, one of EPCOT Center’s crown jewels on opening day, nestled cozily between Mexico and China in World Showcase, beckons visitors with its vibrant modern cityscapes, its mysterious ancient ruins, its traditional tribal villages, and the beauty of its natural world as represented by the distant forced perspective Simien Mountain Range.
Experience the bustle of Addis Ababa Marketplace, where Ethiopian cast members create handmade woven baskets and colorful tapestries and pottery, all in a complex of connected storefronts, or rest your feet while enjoying hearty Ethiopian cuisine in Konso Kitchen, inspired by the millennia-old tribal cultural landscape which is recognized by UNESCO.
Best of all, thrill to the indescribable depth of the nation’s history in Contrasts of Ethiopia, a travelogue CircleVision documentary housed within the majestic rock-hewn stone churches of Lalibela (the pavilion’s weenie), where you will witness actor recreations of the sweeping ancient Aksum empire, the early spread of Christianity, the troubled colonial era, all the way up to a modern, thriving nation!
The Walt Disney Company, working alongside Ethiopian tourism representatives, has vowed to donate 20% of their retail & dining profits to support, protect and rehabilitate the nation’s natural and historic heritage.
@montydysquith-navarro, did you anticipate the correct continent?
Ethiopia is a great choice! If i'm not wrong it's one of the only African countries that has not been colonized at some point? Ethiopia provides some real African representation that was not present on opening day, and the architecture of Ethiopia is so varied that I'm glad it carried over into your pavilion. This feels like an authentic opening day pavilion full of rich culture in the marketplace and kitchen while the history of this nation is shown off in CircleVision that varies enough from the other two present on opening day. Plus who doesn't love donations?
Greece is the cradle of civilization, bringing democracy, science, medicine, theatre, language, arts, mythology, philosophy, and the Olympics to the world, so it makes sense for such a country to be included within the World Pavilion, nestled between Italy and Germany, the Greece Pavilion celebrates the divine impact the realm of the gods has had on civilization.
Set within a fusion of bustling Athenian streets and the coastal island town of Mykonos, the pavilion is split between the past and present, where guests can explore the
Greek Agora marketplace to sample and buy authentic local cuisine, and visit a replica of the Athenian Acropolis, complete with the
Parthenon, the entrance to the pavilion's E-ticket attraction.
The Odyssey: Voyage of Heroes is an atmospheric journey that fuses the best elements of Pirates of the Caribbean and the late Maelstrom, taking guests into the ancient past within gondolas as Odysseus accomplishes his long voyage back home, encountering monsters and gods along the way.
Other entertainment includes the
Theatre of the Muses, based on the Epidaurus Amphitheatre, where classical Greek plays of tragedy and comedy are performed daily, as well as traditional Greek dances and festivals are performed (but no plate breaking sadly).
The Hercules Store celebrates the 1997 animated classic
Hercules, complete with M&Gs for the film's characters, whilst the
Temple of Dionysus is the pavilion's major table restaurant, serving a god's worth of Greek wines and beverages.
Greece is a very popular pick for World Showcase, to the point where there's even an Instagram group dedicated to promoting a Greece pavilion for Epcot! Given Greece's place in Western history it's surprising to not see it already being represented in EPCOT. The fusing of two of Greece's most iconic cities is a popular and realistic choice for Epcot with Italy meshing Rome and Venice amongst a few others. The Parthenon being home to the land's E-Ticket is a great idea, and based on what you shared would be a thrilling addition to EPCOT's lineup which has been desperately needed since opening day. Theatre of the Muses aids in rounding out the pavilion's offering gifting guests with a great option for entertainment that ties into the pavilion.
THE UNITED ARAB EMIRATES Pavillion
View attachment 564713
A more friendly and Westernized Middle Eastern country, the UAE Pavillion acts as much of a melting pot as the American Adventure. Half of the pavilion is themed after the ancient Bedouin societies that formed the UAE, with the other half being modern UAE. The main E Ticket attraction is a water coaster,
SILK ROAD CRUISE, themed after exploring the ports and myths of Persia, ending in a narrow splashdown escape from the fearsome Roc. Afterwards, feed your inner hero with scrumptious fish and rice at the table service
MANTICORE'S FEAST resteraunt, themed to a large traditional stone house. Finally, the modern city has shopping for items both electronic and modern and traditional Muslim art and literature.
The UAE is an udnerstabale pick to represent the Middle East given it's rapidly rising position in the world in the last fifty years or so. Given how early EPCOT functioned surprised to not see a ride mentioning their oiling industry ala Maelstrom's oil rig finale. With that said the Silk Road Cruise adds an exciting E-Ticket that would have been cutting edge back on opening day, and likely would have had long lines even to this day!
Sri Lanka
Located between China and Germany and extending into the World Showcase Lagoon, Sri Lanka will be the newest country added to the pavilion lineup, a tropical island off the coast of India, where diverse wildlife meets a modern cultural hub; complete with picturesque rainforest trails, stunning train tours, as well as culturally-rich shopping, dining, and site-seeing.
Sri Lanka is a great pick for the World Showcase it has a rich culture and distinctive style of architecture that aids in helping it stick out, throw in how colorful its buildings are and you already have a feast for the eyes at the World Showcase Lagoon. I think Sri Lanka has a lot to offer when it comes to offerings with its unique cuisine, beautiful dances and music, and amazing vistas.
INDONESIA PAVILION
Sponsored by Bank Central Asia
Selamat datang ("Welcome" in Bahasa Indonesia) to
Indonesia, the "Emerald of the Equator", a country renowned for its rich and diverse natural and cultural treasures. Located between the Mexico and forthcoming Scandinavia pavilions, the Indonesia pavilion aims to transport guests in an environment that recognizes the melting pot that is Indonesia: its indigenous roots, its fusion of East and West, its celebration of nature and its people, and everything in between.
The pavilion is symbolized by the
palari, a traditional wooden sailing vessel with
pinisi-type rigging from South Sulawesi, a full-scale replica of which is berthed at the pavilion's dock on the World Showcase Lagoon that guests can board and explore.
Across the pathway is the first section of the pavilion:
Kota Tua, a recreation of Old Town Jakarta where several historical Dutch-style structures (remnants of
Old Batavia, the old Dutch walled settlement) are found that enterprising Indonesians have reclaimed to built their stores in, including the pavilion's main marketplace
Pasar, where stalls of Indonesian souvenirs, goods, and wares are crafted daily by Indonesian cast members and sold for guests to purchase, and the pavilion's main table-service restaurant
Nasi Goreng, where guests can get their taste of exquisite Indonesian cuisine that is a feast for the senses.
At the back of the pavilion lies its second section:
Temple Compound, an ahistorical mixed recreation of various temples in Indonesia set amongst many patches of greenery, where guests enter through a reproduction of the gate from the
Lempuyang temple, walk past rows of bell-shaped stupas from the
Borobodur temple, enter one of the three replica Trimurti temples from the
Prambanan temple compound — the pavilion's main weenie — that houses the pavilion's headlining attraction
Wondrous Indonesia, a Circle-Vision 360° travelogue film set across the Indonesian islands that mix traditional film imagery and traditional
Wayang kulit-style animation.
I was tempted to do my hometown, but I felt I needed a challenge.
I think this pavilion is really well done, and represents opening day EPCOT's and World Showcase's messages. The pavilion is extremely detailed and focused not only on the attractions, shopping and dinning, but also on the small details like the palari! I didn't even know what that was until today, and I think having it be explorable is a great move giving how foreign Indonesia still is for many people. Furthermore I think you handled the countries' long history really well with the repurposing of the old Dutch buildings that transition into the iconic Indonesian jungles and temples. Overall this is a really well done and culturally rich pavilion, great job!
I for one would have loved a Filipino pavilion, after all The Philippines and Cuba (I'm Cuban for those unaware
) are kinda like colonial cousins!
