Semifinals - Season 19 Finals: The Forward Thinking Finale
Welcome to the semi-finals (elimination-free) of the One Sentence Competition: Prism of SYWTBAI! Solaris Knight's decision to use a new SYWTBAI prism means that all future prompts will be old prompts. With this weird new prism in place, OSC is now grounds for a revisiting of the forum's past, diving into the What Ifs from the most cherished prompts to grace the forum.
-The Set Up-
@TheOriginalTiki: "The prompt itself is relatively simple. There's a lot of speculation going on about what "Disney Forward" could possibly mean for the future of the Anaheim property. For those not in the know, we're going to be looking at this area in particular."
As you can see, Disney has some big plans for both the Paradise Pier Hotel parking lot and surrounding areas in between that hotel and the Disneyland Hotel, as well as the area that used to be Rainforest Cafe all the way up through to the parking lot behind the monorail station and Disneyland hotel. What this means for Team Danny DeVito From Dumbo is TWO expansions to the Disneyland Resort. One for DCA, one for Disneyland Park. There shouldn't be any timeline shenanigans involved and instead be looked at with all the real-world prospects of theme park industrial hurdles as if you were in the room developing these expansions with Disney."

Pitch what you would build in either the DCA expansion plot or the Disneyland expansion plot for Disneyland Forward.

K.I.S.S. – Keep it simple, silly. Try not to complicate or overthink things too much. It’s a simple, casual competition – there are no eliminations. Propose as you please, let your imagination soar!

Originality - In this criterion, I’m looking to see how unique or original a pitch is. Does it think outside the box?
Realism -Even though pitches can be cool, there must also be grounds for realism. Is your pitch generally realistic to happen?
X-factor - This criterion is simply a personal opinion. Does AGP like it, or is wowed by it?
BONUS: Toy Story Parking Lot
The DCA and DL plots aren't the only expansion pads available for the Resort. Pitch what you would build in the Toy Story Parking Lot, west of DCA. You can add up to one extra sentence and image.

Death Valley
Using the DCA expansion plot, Death Valley is based on the real world area of the same name, incorporating a good chunk of the original 1.0 era edge in this new area as a “nostalgic throwback” to a bygone era of Disney history, basically an equivalent to NOS in DCA. Contrary to its name, this land features elements of multiple deserts in California for more visual variety for its attractions, which include a giga coaster, the first of its kind on Disney property (Illusion Mountain, picking up Splash’s slack) wheeling riders through the desert & into the ruins of an alien civilization, a dark ride about the origins of the Death Valley name (Golden Nightmares), & a flat ride about the iconic “sliding stones” (Stonebreaker). The indigenous peoples of the area are also honored by the decor of the area, using native consultants to design the land & its restaurant.
Bonus - I’d convert the Toy Story Parking Lot into an expanded World of Disney, resurrecting the old theming of the area (possibly converting the defaced current one into a Mitsukoshi or a new Rainforest Cafe on the side) to look more elaborate, serving as a way to get some delectable last minute souvenirs or get a small taste of what’s to come at the parks.

Discovery Bay Hotel
Inspired by both vintage hotels in San Francisco like the Palace Hotel and the unbuilt land, the Discovery Bay Hotel (located in the DCA plot because it’s “california“ themed [the DL plot sees a Downtown Disney expansion btw]) will provide the Disneyland Resort with more much-needed hotel rooms. This resort is a moderate-level resort (same level as Pixar Place) that is themed to both discovery and SEA (there are plenty of Easter eggs too). Amenities include a couple of restaurants, a pool themed to 20,000 Leagues, a bar that features Figment’s long lost brother, a Hyperion themed playground, and a fireworks shooting gallery instead of an arcade.
Bonus:
DisneySk nevermind (yeah I know, another scrapped idea, DW’s getting lazy), anyways I’m proposing a new third gate, Anaheim DisneySea, featuring a big bubble as an icon, as well as lands themed to Italy, Arabia, Scandinavia, Oceania, and Mexico, among others.

Quick clarification about the prompt is that you can build anything in one of the two plots; as long as it fits inside the plot then you’re good. This can be a watermark, an expansion, an indoor experience, anything!

DISNEY'S AVENGERS TOWER WEST RESORT
As the more modernist Malibu chic counterpart to the Grand Californian on the DCA parking plot, Avengers Tower West is a Deluxe Plus hotel similar to Galactic Starcruiser meant to complement Avengers CAMPUS. While guests start merely as hotel guests, the MCU setting means they become heroes in their own right, passing the time between adventures eating food from around the Marvel Universe, rubbing costumed elbows with a rotating cast of superheroes, and exploring the complex for Stark Industry secrets and easter eggs. The best perk however is complementary rooftop restaurant access for the best views of a new DCA drone show starring the Avengers and their allies.
