Queue revamp (Eagle Flyer, CGA (Cedar Fair))

Eagle Flyer’s redone queue is simple; made more enclosed under colonial-style wooded housing facades to be consistent with the land it is located in and seem less like the generic carnival ride it is. Additionally, one can see safety instructions drawn in a vintage woodcut style, to enhance the “colonial” feel of the area even further, encouraging riders to turn their vehicle’s steering shaft to turn around.

Welcome back to the second spectrum of the One Sentence Competition: Prisms of Light!

-The Set Up-
The great @Evilgidgit, upon careful consideration, shined his beam of light on the next prism. This time though, the light landed somewhere unexpected! Good rides, of course, are what most people want when it comes to visiting a good theme park. However, at the same time, the bigger and better the ride is, the more popular it is, and the longer people have to wait. These wait times will still get people to wait for the rides, but a boring queue always makes people more frustrated and annoyed about the ride- you're waiting two hours for a ride when you can see the loading station right in front of you!

-Challenge-
Create a new queue for any existing ride of your choice.

-Rules-​

• Any ride around the world is allowed- but it should take up about the same space as before.​
• You may use between 1 to 3 sentences and up to 1 image.​
• No AI generated artwork, writing, or assistance in the brainstorming process is allowed​

-Deadline-
This project is due on Wednesday, April 24th at 11:59 PM WDW Time

-Tips-
K.I.S.S. – Keep it simple, silly. Try not to complicate or overthink things too much. It’s a simple, casual competition – there are no eliminations. Propose as you please, let your imagination soar!

Pirates of the Caribbean
Disneyland

The queue for Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland leaves a lot to be desired (compared to its siblings), from the outdoor queue's lack of shade from the Californian sun to the lack of storytelling in the indoor queue. To make up for this, the queue will be extensively retooled to fit within the building itself. Upon passing through the stately facade's doors, guests will now be directed up a flight of servant's stairs which leads to a winding queue through the building's ransacked rooms (the former location of the 21 Royal dining experience, which has now been relocated above Eudora's Chic Boutique) filled with crashed crystal chandeliers, overturned tables (with broken tableware and spilled food and drinks), torn paintings, broken instruments, and ripped furnishings – a foreboding sign of things to come... or maybe, came to past – before coming down again to Laffitte's Landing to board their boats and experience a swashbuckling adventure.

Bonus​

To accentuate the moody atmosphere of the new queue, dissonant orchestral cues based on music from the period (17th-18th century) and the attraction's theme song "A Pirate's Life for Me" can be heard.

Triceratops Spin

In an alternate universe where the dinosaurs do survive Animal Kingdom, a major overhaul is slated for the queue of Triceratops Spin, the worst queue in a park filled with fantastic ones. With the Dinoland USA theming shelved, Triceratops spin is incorporated into an expanded Cretaceous Trail and by extension the queue of the attraction highlighted by a sign carved in the surface of a large bolder at the entrance. A natural looking canopy is created to replace the existing one and still provide protection from the Florida sun, with all manner of foliage, trees and rockwork framing the existing switchback queue from non-riders' view, leaving a bit of exploration for guests with a beautiful Triceratops statue incorporated within queue itself and seen before boarding.

Disneyland Paris is getting a new family land based on the hit Disney cartoon (and Greco-Roman mythology) Hercules! In the new roller coaster, “Pegasus' Battle Coaster” (similar in style to Slinky Dog Dash), Pegasus flies with guests to encounters face-to-face with the Hydra and the centaur Nessus. “Pain and Panic’s Spin” is a whip-like ride (similar to Alien Swirling Saucers) whereas “Hercules Boat Ride” brings guests on a simple path to see the headquarters for Hades and the Fates.

Edit: Pain is holding a toy version of Porkchop in the queue of his ride.

As a virtual queue and preshow to Tron Lightcycle Power Run, Flynn's Arcade is added to Tomorrowland. When your phone or magicband is scanned for your return time, you are also given free play on the games while you wait, ensuring a more immersive and fun way to experience the games that inspired the movies.

Bonus

No classic arcade is complete without some rockin 80's tunes!

Rock’n Rollercoaster

It’s time to give Rock’n Rollercoaster the queue that it, as one of the parks tops E-tickets, deserves. This total reimagining of the queue sees taking the timeless queue system of WDW’s Dumbo and combining it with an immersive and interactive “Hollywood Studios Museum of Rock”. The queue would be a collection of exhibits on the history of Rock and Roll including immersive films that make guests feel like they are right at a concert from classic and modern concerts (especially Aerosmith), instrument and accessory collections, and interactive elements including trivia and games.

Bonus: Of course music would be center stage at this queue with a rotating set list including a fittingly long tribute to one of the best bands ever; Terrapin Station.

Keeping this short and simple. Turns out picking the more out-there option puts my in a territory I've never been in before. Not my best work.

Peter Pan's Flight (MK)

The frontal area of Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom is in need of some refreshing up, still utilising rather old medieval funfair tent entrances for Peter Pan and Philharmagic, whilst Winnie the Pooh has a more fantastical design. Peter Pan's Flight gains a new queue and exterior, appearing as a row of fairy tale London houses, with a large clock tower as a centrepiece, complete with a Tinker Bell-shaped weathervane and animated figures that change per hour (e.g. Captain Hook being chased by Tick Tock, or the Lost Boys being led by John). The changes are somewhat limited due to the narrow path outside (so not quite as elaborate as the concept art above), but the interior queue is reworked to become a small labyrinth through night-time streets of Georgian London, hearing the Darlings talk about Peter Pan, whilst the Peter and Tinker Bell can be glimpsed flying hear and there, even watching guests in a game of hide and seek.

Space Mountain (in Disney World), one of the most innovative rides of its day, queue could use an update courtesy of one of the most innovative things of our day the James Webb Space Telescope. The entrance small sign is replaced by a huge mural of one of the first images generated by this telescope behind a sculpture representing this spaceport. Additionally, throughout the queue static signs and dynamic screens are updated and some are added to include rotating images from the telescope and scientific facts.

Bonus: While the initial queue music is good and will remain in most of the queue (minus the spaceport announcement that happens all too frequently) the boarding room is filled with the music from Strauss: Also Sprach Zarathustra op. 30 (most recognized as a theme of 2001: a space odyssey)

Soarin' Historic Airport Queue at Epcot

The attraction “Soarin’” of The Land Pavilion at Epcot is a great ride and now has a great queue to showcase the history of flight. The building is designed after the architecture of the early 1960’s Pan Am Terminal at JFK Airport known as “Worldport”--a wide lobby with pristine floors, cafes, and seating areas. After being separated into their specific theater queue, guests walk down the jetway and into their seats for the ride.

Bonus: In a wink to a former Magic Kingdom attraction, "Take Flight" prepares guests for the journey ahead:

Haunted Mansion - Extra Extra Dead!
​

Board the new trackless Doom Buggy at the beginning of the spooky queue at Walt Disney World’s Haunted Mansion, and get carried away - through the path with extra animatronic scares and hints of the Hatbox Ghost - to the lobby and the Gallery, where no one has to jockey for position anymore. The clear top of the Doom Buggy doubles as a screen, so you can look up and see what you may see, with added special effects right on your ride vehicle!

This buggy is yours for the entire refurbished wild ride, and two lanes at the entrance means no delays at loading or unloading - improved ride performance every time!

Bonus: the soundtrack will be more sound effects like howls and screams, with a light spooky track in the background from the recent film, because you aren’t inside the Mansion…yet!
