It’s happened with my “When You Wish Upon a Monkey’s Paw”; a whole lot of this “winner by default” thing.
I had two ideas and could never decide. it’s a shame I missed it too late. I It was: fujicoaster gets built in Epcot, high tech, really good ride BUT cosmic rewind no longer exists, OR figment 1.0 is fully restored with modern updates and new things to make it better than it was before BUT spaceship earth is closed and replaced by an ip attraction.

Alright enough waffling: HERES MY PITCH!

Mythland: the newest Disneyland “-land”
Disneyland has a brand new land, with many different lands based on different concept, now ones with myths of the world! The big e ticket is a race through mount olympus on a chariot, using the flight of passage ride system themed to Disney’s hercules, with a family “Paul Bunyan” boat ride, and an Atlantis themed “space 220” restaurant to make up the other parts of the land. the land, we have a

BONUS:
In the Toy Story lot, we have a waterpark themed to the lush neverland islands, where you can slide, float, or relax in the many fantastical lagoons and mountains of neverland! (Just look out for the crocodile!)

You can certainly post them over in my topic now; you’ll get the points anyway.

Star Wars: The Outer Rim
1721231638882.jpeg

Taking up the Disneyland expansion pad is Star Wars: The Outer Rim, which is a land that takes place during the imperial era and has 3 sublands. The first one is Tatooine which holds the major E Ticket where we follow the journey of Luke Skywalker and his journey into becoming a jedi, there is also a pod racing ride through the streets of Mos Eisley, the next one is Endor which holds a kuka ride where we join the Battle of Endor and watch the redemption of Darth Vader, the land also holds a speeder bike coaster through the forests of Endor, the last one is Hoth which holds a AT-AT simulator through the battle of Hoth and a walkthrough rebel base. The land solves the complaints of guests that the original trilogy is not really represented and gives a home to some of the most popular characters in all of cinema.

Being built in the expansion pad west of DCA is Monstropolis, this land holds a variety of shops and restaurants, a coaster through the door factory, and a trackless dark ride through the world of Monsters Inc.

Disney’s Worlds of Nature

Disneys WoN.png

For its long-awaited 3rd gate, the Disneyland Resort will open its Worlds of Nature park; an experience dedicated and honoring our natural world. A blend of the rich theming of Disneyland with the appreciation in the real world of Epcot the park is divided into three main sections; Sea, Earth, and Sky, the park blends elaborate theming inspired by the environments of the natural world both real and fantasy, anchored with a collection of attractions, shows, and dining options. With a collection of IP inspired and original attractions; guests can join Moana on a thrilling journey across the sea, travel back in time under the earth to prehistoric times, or travel across the world in 80 days in an air balloon all in a single day.

At the former Toy Story Parking lot would be home to Disneyland’s missing water park; Seas of Antiquity is themed at an expansion Roman bath with the added novelty of being integrated with the resort’s latest hotel; Disney’s Roman Imperial Resort & Spa

Zorro at Disney’s California Adventure

Zorro_%281957%29_-_Theme.png
In the DisneylandForward DCA expansion pad goes an ode to the Spanish-Californian hero who goes by day as Don Diego de la Vega - headlined by El Misión de Zorro, a mega E-ticket where guests can join Zorro as he fights to save his home of Los Angeles from bandits and evildoers.

I would come up with something to put in the Toy Story Lot for the bonus, but...

Surfside Village

Set in California adventure as a celebration of the Ocean itself (because a pier and a wharf aren’t enough) is Surfside Village a sleepy small town dedicated to the love of the ocean. Along with dining experiences and retail locations, it contains two major attractions: a Surf coaster celebrating the love of surfing (same ride system as Guardians of the Galaxy with beach boy music) and Escape to the Sea dark ride (a Finding Dory-themed ride recreating Dory and Friends escape to the ocean).

Bonus- Like most I am out of Ideas, so maybe a parking garage?

Semifinals - Season 19 Finals: The Forward Thinking Finale

Welcome to the semi-finals (elimination-free) of the One Sentence Competition: Prism of SYWTBAI! Solaris Knight's decision to use a new SYWTBAI prism means that all future prompts will be old prompts. With this weird new prism in place, OSC is now grounds for a revisiting of the forum's past, diving into the What Ifs from the most cherished prompts to grace the forum.

-The Set Up-
@TheOriginalTiki: "The prompt itself is relatively simple. There's a lot of speculation going on about what "Disney Forward" could possibly mean for the future of the Anaheim property. For those not in the know, we're going to be looking at this area in particular."

View attachment 800322

As you can see, Disney has some big plans for both the Paradise Pier Hotel parking lot and surrounding areas in between that hotel and the Disneyland Hotel, as well as the area that used to be Rainforest Cafe all the way up through to the parking lot behind the monorail station and Disneyland hotel. What this means for Team Danny DeVito From Dumbo is TWO expansions to the Disneyland Resort. One for DCA, one for Disneyland Park. There shouldn't be any timeline shenanigans involved and instead be looked at with all the real-world prospects of theme park industrial hurdles as if you were in the room developing these expansions with Disney."

[Prompt will be adjusted for OSC standards]

-The Submissions-
Team Danny DeVito's Disneyland Forward: A Resort Overhaul

-Challenge-
Pitch what you would build in either the DCA expansion plot or the Disneyland expansion plot for Disneyland Forward.

-Rules-
  • Your idea does NOT need to be an expansion to the existing parks. It could be a solo experience of any kind.
  • Please choose between one of the two plots.
  • You may use between 1 to 3 sentences and up to 1 image.
  • No AI generated artwork, writing, or assistance in the brainstorming process is allowed

-Deadline-
This project is due on Thursday, July 18 at 11:59 PM WDW Time
(8:59 PM Disneyland Time), abt four days from now
Reviews WILL BE POSTED either the day the deadline is due or the day after. If not, feel free to spam-ping my account until I post them.

-Tips-
K.I.S.S. – Keep it simple, silly. Try not to complicate or overthink things too much. It’s a simple, casual competition – there are no eliminations. Propose as you please, let your imagination soar!

-Judging Criteria-
Originality - In this criterion, I’m looking to see how unique or original a pitch is. Does it think outside the box?
Realism -Even though pitches can be cool, there must also be grounds for realism. Is your pitch generally realistic to happen?
X-factor - This criterion is simply a personal opinion. Does AGP like it, or is wowed by it?

BONUS: Toy Story Parking Lot
The DCA and DL plots aren't the only expansion pads available for the Resort. Pitch what you would build in the Toy Story Parking Lot, west of DCA. You can add up to one extra sentence and image.

Villains' Isle
Disney California Adventure Park

A dark stronghold has been seen rising on the abandoned shores of Alcatraz Island. Villains' Isle will finally give Disney California Adventure its version of Fantasyland... of sorts. Expect frightfully fun encounters with old and new Disney villains and try to escape the dark isle itself in Voyage Beyond Shadowland, the newest water ride at DCA since Grizzly River Run, featuring the US debut of the ride technology in Shanghai Disneyland's Pirates of the Caribbean and an epic battle between the forces of good and evil.

Tatooine & Mandalore

Tying so much together on the DisneylandForward plot, guests will be transported to Tatooine, where they can visit where Luke grew up and Obi-Wan hid out, as well as several sets from The Book of Boba Fett to include Jabba’s palace, and characters from all the related Disney+ shows. They’ll hitch a space (dark) ride with Din Jarin & Grogu back to Mandalore, where they can even get something made of beskar if they survive the journey!

Bonus: Forever Festival Fields

What was once the Toy Story parking lot is now a beautifully landscaped area where DL can now host Epcot-like festivals including Food & Wine, Flower & Garden, and (unique to DL) Street Food of the Southwest.

Eureka Valley & Hotel Expansion
1721424203571.png

On the DCA expansion plot, Disney returns to the original theme of the park, that being California, and opens Eureka Valley, based on the California Gold Rush. Eureka Valley is set in a fake valley created by high rockwork walls to hide the road and Disney hotels, while holding 3 attractions, a traditional goldpanning game, Valley Tour Company, a new shooting dark ride as a replacement for Buzz across the Esplanade, and The Eureka Mill Flume, a Journey To Atlantis style ride set in the local lumber mill. Meanwhile, the remaining land of the DCA expansion plot is used alongside the Disneyland expansion plot to create a major revamp of the resort's hotel options, which sees all of the Disneyland Hotel except the new Villas demolished and replaced with a new large tower inspired internally and externally by Disney on the Frontier Tower site, an expansion of the Pixar Pier Hotel onto the current Paradise Way to add more rooms, a new Art Deco inspired DVC property at the PPH on the site of the parking structure, and a new hexagonal lake built on the Disneyland expansion plot and the remaining Disneyland Hotel space, surrounded by 6 tall budget hotels, each themed to a different member of the Sensational Six, them being Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy & Pluto.

Bonus
1721424228613.png

With new parking structures constructed, Disney see the need to reimagine the Toy Story parking lot into something new that being two things, Kowa Wai, a new Hawaiian/Polynesian inspired water park, and the Walt Disney Hotel, a grand new deluxe hotel on the scale of the Grand Floridian in Orlando, designed in a classic Mictorian style.

The Fjords
images.jpeg

Occupying the Disneyland portion of Disneyland Forward comes the parks newest land, The Fjords, a viking centric land bringing the fjords of Scandinavia to life. With a large, sprawling fishing village serving as the bulk of walkable guest space, visitors will have the chance to dine, dress and play as vikings by day and night with various side trails and rock outcroppings providing plenty of explorable area. Attractions include longships modeled after the Jungle Cruise boats to take guests on a journey deep into the fjords, a family friendly dark ride, stunt show as vikings show off their combat prowess and a launched thrill coaster weaving through the various natural terrains of the land with likely plans for a Frozen expansion to get the entire project greenlit.

The Toy Story lot gets transformed into a 2nd Downtown Disney space with parking decks to replace spaces lost to 2 new hotels and accompanying dining and retail.

CASCADING REEFS
1721476496545.jpeg
A western equivalent to Fantasy Springs, Cascading Reefs combine realms bound together by a magical rock pool conjured forth by Mickey Mouse during his apprentice days, centralised around a growing "mount" of reefs, coral, and stone, and splitting into three realms - the first is Atlantica, based on Ariel's kingdom, with an "anchor" dark ride based on Tony Baxter's ride concept (the DCA ride is closed) and several smaller rides under the sea.

Te Fiti, a Polynesian realm based on Moana, with a magnificent backdrop of a slumbering Te Fiti resembling a mountain range, being home to a major indoor boat ride based around Maui's heroic feats, a Kakamora splash pad and obstacle course, a theatre with a Moana show akin to Festival of the Lion King, and wayfinding boats that guests pilot around the whole land in a low river.

The third land is Pandora: Metkayina Coast, the previously announced Avatar expansion, exploring the ancient traditions and leagues of the aquatic Navi tribe, introducing a simulator ride to let guests swim with the Tulkun above and below the ocean, a Skimwing aerial carousel, and a magnetic boat ride through the lush landscape of Pandora.

BONUS: The Toy Story lot will one day become the resort's 3rd gate, exploring the realms and adventures of various heroes, featuring lands based on Hercules, Aladdin, Mulan, Raya and the Last Dragon, and Thor.

I Would Build Nothing

Not until the yes men at Imagineering and their corporate overlords can get their act together and start producing stuff which can rival Pirates of the Caribbean or Haunted Mansion, with all the streetmosphere and maintenance that goes with that, instead of squandering billions on glorified tech campuses or on consumer-hostile low-capacity “two ride lands” designed merely as upcharge revenue streams slash brand extensions for the past 8 weeks of Disney+ content. Until that time - or until the OLC invades Anaheim - it’s better to leave the last Disneyland & DCA virgin soil unsullied and available for future generations.
