Hello, fellow Armchair Imagineers!
Welcome to Season 6, Episode 1!
The Soft Reboot of the One Sentence Competition!

giphy.gif

What makes this competition great is that it is Super Easy, Barely an Inconvenience!

tenor.gif

For those of you who don't know, the One Sentence Competition is a fun, casual competition.
There are no eliminations and no large time commitment involved!
You can drop in or drop out at anytime and most prompts should not take very long. It is designed to be easy to do alongside school, work, and other games (Like 1986, starting soon!).

This competition is built on simplicity.
Your responses can only be 1-3 sentences long and can only include 1 picture.
No videos or websites or fancy stuff.

This is nicknamed the "Elevator Pitch" Competition! A simple pitch meeting! It isn't about full full presentations or trying to use run on sentences to add as much detail as possible, the key to winning is 2 things: A Good Idea and Communicating that Idea Effectively and Efficiently

It is entirely possible that 3 words, if they communicate all I need to know, could beat a five paragraph run on sentence with hand drawn art.

Detail isn't what wins, which puts everyone on equal footing no matter their experience level or availability!

This episode will be both a continuation of what @D Hindley has done recently and a revival of some concepts from older seasons!

It's a Soft Reboot!

maxresdefault.jpg

Why not both a sequel AND reboot?

I'm your host for Episode 1 of Season 6 (With some help here and there from D) which will have 10 Imagineering Prompts over roughly a month and a half.

This Episode will have be based around a simple "Here's a Problem, Solve it" format. Mostly in familiar parks that won't require much research (like WDW or DLR), but with some options to get more crazy if you'd like.

(And remember how I showed up to prank the last One Sentence Comp by adding in a bit of an extra twist? Don't be surprised if @D Hindley has some revenge planned for later on in the game)

Imagine you walk into an Elevator with Bob Chapek. You hear him on the cell phone talking about some issue with one of the parks. He hangs up and you, an aspiring imagineer, have just enough time for a couple simple sentences to convince him that your idea is the best way to solve it!

For Fun! For Glory!

Each response will receive a short review with encouragement and constructive criticism. Everyone who participates will get 1 point. Then, the top three will receive bronze (1 point), silver (also 1 points), and gold (2 points) medals. Plus, each round will have an "Honorable Mention" for an idea that excels in one area that deserves a special shout out, but wasn't in the top 3 overall for whatever reason.

Whoever has the most points at the end of the game wins bragging rights and first dibs to host Episode 2 (If they want to)!

The competition aspect really isn't the focus though. This is meant to just be a fun time.

Simple enough for new comers, but rewarding enough for veterans.

A great way to start in the imagineering forums, to relax a bit between bigger competitions, or just to have a good time and use your imagination a bit!

The First Prompt for Episode 1 will begin Momentarily!

A Greater Escape

You're an aspiring Imagineer in an elevator with Disney's CEO, Bob Chapek. You overhear him on the phone talking with Imagineers about a problem in the parks.

-The Problem-
Stitch's Great Escape has finally been officially closed for good, but any replacement project has failed to get off the ground. Now this prime piece of real estate right near the center of the Magic Kingdom is just going to waste.

Screen%2520Shot%25202016-07-10%2520at%25202.45.49%2520AM.png

There isn't much time left in this elevator ride, but now is your chance to impress the Big Cheese and propose a solution that will earn you a place in the Imagineering Hall of Fame!

-The Prompt-
Propose a solution!
A new attraction to fill the space left behind by Stitch's Great Escape
Remember, this is a small space, so the replacement has to be small scale too.

-Rules-
You may use between 1 and 3 sentences and up to 1 picture.
The deadline will be at 11:59 PM EST on Monday, October 5th

-tips-

K.I.S.S - Keep it simple, silly.
This is an elevator pitch, not a full project!
It isn't about more detail, it is about the right details!

-Judging Criteria-
Is it creative?
Is it realistic?
Does it fit thematically/visually?

Good Luck everyone! Have fun! Go create!

Though if I missed anyone, feel free to tag them for me! Anyone and everyone is welcome! Whether you want to play every round, do one and then leave, bounce in and out, or even just toss out some memes... you're invited!

Let me quote the first prompt here so it doesn't get lost!

Technological Dreams
iu

In this new theater attraction guests meet Alex, a young boy who while loving science, is starting to believe that the future he sees in movies isn't possible until he meets a mysterious time traveler from the future who proves to him with a little bit of motivation and inspiration all of your technological dreams can come true! This show will use all the famous sci-fi Disney movies, such as Wall-E, Big Hero Six, and Meet the Robinsons to help teach Alex that the future won't be so bad and even during its bleakest moments there's still hope for progress. The theater (with the second theater being used for props and whatnot) will also use the newest special effects to make the show seem extra futuristic and impressive to those both young and old!

WALL-E's Earthly Waltz
latest

Replacing Stitch's Great Escape comes a refreshing, pleasant voyage through a once ruined world, rejuvenated through science and technology; WALL-E's Earthly Waltz is an atmospheric "hovering" dark ride (with the impression we are in levitating vehicles) that does not serve as a book report of the film, but rather as a journey through humanity and the robots' union to revive the Earth, celebrating the optimism of the future as seen by WALL-E and EVE. A trackless dark ride with the feel of Living With the Land.

Join Lewis and Wilbur as you travel to different places around the world in the Bubble Transport. The ride will be similar to Star Tours with Lewis and Wilbur AAs inside the Bubble Transport in the middle of the room and a huge 360 screen surrounding the room for everyone to see where Lewis and Wilbur take you.

THE CHICKEN LITTLE EXPERIENCE

Enter the imaginative and immersive world of Disney's beloved Chicken Little, where you'll swear the sky is falling in this engaging guided walkthrough. Enter a UFO filled with camouflage panels, and watch Chicken Little and his lovable friends Abby Mallard, Runt of the Litter, and Fish Out of Water (all expressive lifelike animatronics) act histrionically while assessing the situation, realized with the same sophisticated humor as the film. Lastly enter the UFO's power room, where the former ExtraTERRORestrial Encounter theater-in-the-round now features a rampaging Alien Tripod in addition to more relentless comedy from our quartet of heroes.

Mars Rover Races

This small dark ride sends Tomorrowland visitors to the Red Planet for a madcap race aboard a Mars Rover. Your mission? Find proof of life on Mars - which shouldn't be too hard, considering that the ride is filled to the brim with cartoony aliens of various shapes and sizes (brought to life via a combination of animatronics, static figures, plywood cutouts, and screens), culminating in an encounter with a large Bantha-esque alien who threatens to gobble you up!

WALL-E: Battle for the Axiom

latest

Utilizing the "Motion Theater" created by Dynamic Attractions, this high-octane stage production turns the former realm of Stitch's Great Escape into the bridge of the Axiom, docked here in Tomorrowland for historical purposes. It's been a long, long time since the Axiom returned to Earth, and the descendants of those passengers that took the chance and returned home are now taking us on a tour to commemorate the occasion -- a commemoration interrupted by a re-awakened AUTO, who plans to revive its "directive" and return to space, using us as hostages! Thus, it's up to Andrew McCrea, the great-grandson of the Captain, his defense team, and of course, WALL-E, EVE and their robot friends to stop AUTO and his "new and improved" robot army and save the Axiom from another pointless millennia in space!

WANDAVISION: TRAPPED IN TIME

Guests are the live studio audience for Scarlet Witch’s reality-warping breakdown in WandaVision: Trapped in Time, a 4DX theater experience whose combination of sit-com homages and trippy superhero escapades befits Tomorrowland’s brand of nostalgic science fiction. A new, mind-bending storyline sees the (sure to be) hit series brought to life with shocking in-theater effects that elevate a deceptively low-budget addition, all while deftly skirting Universal’s Marvel rights (a precedent set by Cosmic Rewind) to bring Earth’s Mightiest Property to Disney’s most popular park.
