Hello..My wife and I will actually have an entire evening to ourself on this years trip. Our DD 18 will be keeping Our Ds 7 at the resort for an evening .

We made an adr at epcot but, now we are thinking about cancelling those and spening the night at Mk or Hs.

The last thought Was that we'd spend the night at Mk, Grab a Qs Meal somewhere and maybe head to the Bar at Ak for a Nightcap.

What would you do??

I should mention that We both enjoy good food and a drink or two....so we will more than likley want access to a good selection of mixed drinks. Love the thirsty turtles over at Okw

Spend the entire evening at MK. Act like young carefree kids again and make it a magical time where you both laugh, giggle, ride the rides you want to, be attentive to each other like when you were first dating. Buy her something she's been looking at. Get your photo taken together in various places throughout the park. Share an ice cream on Main Street. Stay for the castle goodnight kiss.

Love this idea!

And my husband I try to to do this once a trip when we leave our son behind with the babysitter....we enjoy the parks as if we were kids again. While I love strolling around WS with him, acting like kids, and having ice cream in the middle of main street while the fireworks go off always seems to capture my heart and mess with my emotions...

I would go to the park of your choice, leave early, book V&A, and give your wife a REAL night out :). Cheap? No. But isn't your wife worth it?
This is why it depends on the people. That's a great night out for Trotsky's wife. One they'd both enjoy a lot.

If someone did that for me, I'd be thinking, "Great. Now I have to go to V&A. And I have to pretend to like it." I would much rather get a hot dog in Epcot and watch Illuminations. With the right guy, I could easily have a more romantic time at a baseball game than at V&A.

It really, really depends on the people involved.

DH and I will be having a date night on our upcoming trip. We are planning to spend time in Epcot and have a few drinks that we can't have with the family. I'm not a fan of Illuminations though (I know...the horror...), so we will probably leave and go to the Boardwalk? Or check out some resorts? Maybe hop to MK because I love it so much.

We did this last year when we were down there. We started the night in the World Showcase, and then took the monorail to the Polynesian (we've seen Illuminations plenty of times). We got some fruity drinks from the pool bar and sat on the beach to watch the MK fireworks and the Electric Water Pageant. It was awesome!

Lots of great suggestions. It all boils down to what kind of person you are. If you are carefree and want to act like a big kid, hit up MK. If you are looking to do something you probably don't do because the kids are around then World Showcase is good. There probably won't be too many kids around Of course you can always have the 18 year old take the kid to MK and you and the wife can have some alone time in the room too.

My first instinct would be World Showcase, but on second thought, there's something extra magical and romantic about the Magic Kingdom at night with the one you love. :). Either way, you can watch a fantastic fireworks show!

I'd do the "act likes kids again" thing. As adults, everyone thinks they should do "grown up" things like eat fancy meals and drink fancy wine. But, all I really want to do is eat pizza and funnel cakes and popcorn and ride on rides over and over again without caring about what the "adult" in me is telling me to do. My DH and I did this once at MK in July, 2008. My parents were with us so they stayed with our daughter while we went to MK For EMH from 11 pm - 2 am! We were exhausted the next day - but we had the BEST time! You're free - go be kids!

I guess I should have said this upfront But..IM a big kid and my wife would probably find it more romantic to hold hands on Haunted mansion than go to an expensive meal.

Guess I just answered my own question.

Mk for rides, Fireworks and back to Akv for a Nightcap.....Good thing we got the 1 bedroom this trp!!!;);):D

I should probably also mention that I do a Lot of freelance music work which puts me in catering halls on a regular basis which typically comes with a Great meal which is nice But the downside of that is that when we go out to eat its usually for comfort food.
