After the 100th

I am just as upset that the office is going to stay in WDW but really more people will see it at 'One Mans Dream' then they will if they shipped it back to DL. I am a big GMWML fan but really if anyone walks in to that attraction anymore they go right ot the main show and don't pay any attition to most of the stuff in the lobby. The movie is great I do agree with that big time....I am sure it works a lot better at MGM then it does shoved into DCA (where in the end it makes it look like a add for WDW) but the movie is great. I think that come 2005 they will repackage 'One Mans Dream' and shove it in Main Street some place here at DL for the 50th. Which would not be a bad thing at all!!!!!

The only reason that I think that they would keep it at MGM, is because the park is low on attractions as-is, and I don't think that they would remove a popular attraction. It is popular, right?

I think it SHOULD go to Disneyland in 2005 for the Celebration, but I think that until then, it should get to stay at MGM, so more people can see it. I don't think it should go to Disneyland and sit in a vault for three years before coming out...

I was with some Disney first timers and we went to that and some of them did not really like it and thought it was boring, but as for me i really enjoyed it. I think people who are not disney people and/or do not know alot about everything, thinks its like a mueseum or something, and they dont always want that at a theme park.

I really hope it stays. World economy hasn't been good since 9/11. I had plans to visit WDW during the 100 Years of Magic, and they fell through. I know that some might think it's not "fair" to those who were able to be there, but I really wish more people could see that there IS a Walt Disney behind Disney. I think the company itself needs to realize that too.

One Man's Dream.

I saw the entire display and thought it was magnificent. I did see some problems. The "Dancing Man" display is on loan to Disney, however, it was obvious to me that the machine has suffered damage due to improper archival techniques. IMHO, many of these objects need to be donated to the Smithsonian before they are lost forever. These articles need to be preserved and protected for future generations.

I have a question for anyone who has seen the exibit. Did they have the original E.P.C.O.T. model for WDW that Walt had built. This modes I am refering to was a scale model of the entire property with the Amusement park at the far top of the property the industrial complex and the 30 story centerpiece in the center with the hotel and transportation center and the homes radatinging out from the center. This model also was a full working scale model where the amusment park rides moved, There was an active Monorail and Peoplemover with auto and truck traffic moving in scale form. This would have been simular to the moving dirorama that was at the ford exibit at the worlds fair in 63-65 and the same one that was at the world of motion before Speed track was installed. If so do you have any Pic

Of course! When I saw it in October, last year, I spend more than two hours there! Everyone in my group moved from section to section and I stayed there, reading everything, listening to all the audios, and my folks were ed off, waiting for me outside for more than an hour! The kids went to see the Little Mermaid show, and came back, and still had to wait... I came out with tears in my eyes and spent some 20 minutes more inside the store... Next time I will come back there alone, with no one to drag me out of there!

I would really need to see a pic of what you are talking about because everything I have ever seen was the model they have on the TTA. The only other thing I can think of is the large wall map which I know they also have at OMD. But the only E.P.C.O.T. model that I ever saw Walt with was the one that is on the TTA???? Anyone else have any input????

I think I saw this on popkids website but I cant seem to locate it or it could be another place. But this model of the Park was designed before they locked down the final plans in 68-69 . it looked more like a canaval type of attraction with feris wheels and The whirl, kinda of what you would se at a traveling carnaval, more whimisical than the MK of today.

"The Tomorrowland Metro Retro Historical Society roudly presents Walt Disney's 20th century vision of the future........."

I am sure this is what tou are talking about, it has everything you described. It is on the TTA, and is "presented", along with CoP, by the Tomorrowland Metro-Retro Historical Society.

This is the model for EPCOT, the city, and the carnival was part of the city, not the Magic Kingdom.
