Has anybody heard anything about the area that was supposed to open in One Man's Dream behind "The Legacy Continues" wall?

The teaser on the wall said "coming Fall 2010", which was then changed to "coming soon" and it's been awhile since it's been brought up.

Has anybody heard anything?

I'm curious to find out as well.... I've been thinking about that recently. What ever happened to the Legacy continues??? Possibly it will be unveiled at Destination D???

I think its time WDW gave up OMD and maybe sent it to DL for a change.

I don't agree. Whenever we see the attraction we always say that it should be manditory that all WDW guests see this attraction so that they can appreciate what one man was able to dream, visualize, and build. It is a very good tribute to Walt Disney.

Because at the end of the day, none of us would be having fun in the parks if it wasn't for One Man's Dream!

It would be unthinkable to remove One Man's Dream. I got to see it for the fist time this month. I have always been fascinated with Walt. I would like to go to his family's museum in San Francisco since it's only a 2 hour drive and I fly across the US to go to WDW.

Thank you Walt for all you have done. Your dreams live on in all of us that love everything Disney.

I too believe it would be unthinkable to remove it completely, because a lot of people forget how it all started, even people within the WDO. However, I think that the attraction gets overlooked a lot at Hollywood Studios. Most people walk right by it because they are in a hurry to get to Toy Story Mania. I feel the attraction would fit better in Magic Kingdom or EPCOT, so people would appreciate it more. Originally, I would have thought that it could have fit perfectly inside of Exposition Hall in Town Square, it would have added an actual attraction to Main Street aside from the train station, but we all know how that turned out. I know the Odyssey at EPCOT is sometimes used for catered events or what not, but I think One Man's Dream would have made a nice fit inside that building as well. They could have condensed the movie at the end into shorter clips shown on tv screens throughout the attraction to save on space that would have been the theater. All in all, removal of it from Hollywood Studios would free up that building and with the removal of Narnia, it would have allowed Disney enough space to build a new attraction for Pixar Place and help build on those franchises.

For what it is, and the staffing it requires, the attraction must be doing something right, either pulling in more people than one would expect or increasing guest satisfaction because they appreciated the Company acknowledging Walt.

Disneyland already has a very similar concept in the Disneyland Opera House, recently updated and refurbished in late '09.

Although the Disneyland version focuses more on Walt and his plans for Disneyland specifically; from the actual bench he sat on in Griffith Park in the early 1950's dreaming of a place where parents and children could have fun together, to his crowning achievement of Audio-Animatronics before he passed away in '66.

I think the DHS version is appropriate to focus more on his life in general and all the work he did with movies/animation.

I agree with this. I love the concept of OMD, but can't help wondering if there's a better spot for it than DHS... I agree the Odyssey building seems perfect for it, since one could say that Epcot is sort of the final realization or resting place of Walt's dream, and is arguably a physical extension of the optimistic and progressive mentality which drove it.

Oh, my gosh, you live in California and haven't been to the Walt Disney Family Museum?!? You have to go ASAP! It makes any small Walt exhibit currently in any theme park look like a Junior High carnival by comparison.

My first visit in late '09 I thought I'd want to spend a couple of hours there, but ended up there for four hours and we only left because we wanted to get on to another exhibit at the Legion of Honor. The second visit was a couple months ago, and I gave myself the whole day and spent 6 hours there and just poured over everything and the theater presentations. You'll learn so much about Walt your head will spin.

You've got to get yourself to the Presidio at your earliest convenience! You won't regret it.

I am leading my second student group to WDW this December and as part of the Disney YES program's "Disney's Animation Magic" we will be touring OMD. I have loved taking a quiet walk through the displays on my own, but I am excited to walk through with a guide next time! Hopefully my students will gain a greater appreciation for the man that made their joyful trip possible.

Why would you want them to do this?

One Man's Dream, or something similar, should be in EVERY Disney theme park. Without Walt there wouldn't BE any Disney parks!

I don't know, I think its an old exibit and that people in other parts of the world would like to see some of the artifacts.

This is the same park that has a 20 year old stunt show and just now got around to changing a ride that was supposed to be upgradeable and changeable.
