When I walked into the family room this morning the Today show was on, and Ann Curry was in the middle of a news story about the Disney Channel. It seems that on Monday, Playhouse Disney was interrupted for about five minutes and viewers recieved a movie instead:eek:  ! Disney has no clue how this happened, but they are investigating.

Was I hearing things due to lack of coffee, or did this really happen?

I heard that too - Ann Curry was seemingly mortified.

I thought in the land of million dollar lawsuits (the US) the program is send out/encoded 1-2 min delayed to prevent such stuff from hapening ?

I guess someone has to pay for this (with money)

Heard about this on the news this morning. Sounds like someone goofed big time. I'm sure lawsuits are soon to follow... :(

I think that's only true for live programming, and then only on broadcast stations.

Just read it in our local news:
http://www.nydailynews.com/news/2007/05/02/2007-05-02_cable_porn_gaffe_the_full_mickey-1.html

Sounds like Comcast is taking complete responsibility for it, but I hope it doesn't still look bad for Disney.

"But I'm speechless. I try to protect my kids from a lot of things, but I wouldn't have thought Disney would become one of them."

Guess what? Even though Comcast has taken full responsibility, Disney will get some of the rap for it even though they had no involvement. Sounds like this guy is already thinking lawsuit.

I was thinking when I watched the clip....those two kids arent old enough to understand what they are watching. Even if they saw a couple of seconds of it, how much did their little brains comprehend?

That raises a question for me. How long was this little interuption?

Well for the lady that was splathered all over the news, it was long enough for her to hit record on the VCR and turn the television off. I would say 20 seconds at the most. Plus, if we are talking about the same lady splathered all over the news, I think those were twin boys and were no where near 4 years old. One and a half at the most and they probably had no clue what they were looking at and wont remember it.

EDIT: Would you mind taking that out? It's not exactly something our younger crowd here needs to be watching...

My only problem with it is that blasted tune has been stuck in my head all day. :hammer:

It's not really something you can walk around work mumbling the words to. :lookaroun
