Stayed at ASMu Aug 23-31....never again. Switch to Pop. We had too many problems. More than a few. I actually cried because when I booked our trip I had a choice of any hotel and chose that one because it was recently renovated. (I had tried for 2 months before my trip to switch to CS but there was no availability.)I have stayed at 6 resorts and have been very satisfied with them all but hated this one. I will never stay at a value again. I am going to write a letter to guest relations or somewhere to voice my concerns. I am not a complainer, either, but this resort really upset me. The staff there were awesome...my experience in no way has to do with them. It was all the resort.

Hmm, I usually always stay at Value resorts (All Star Music and All Star Movies) and have never had an issue. I prefer Value resorts b/c I only need a room to sleep in while the parks are closed and the rooms are not bad at all, just your standard hotel room. Traveling with 2 boys, I don't think you will not have an issue with the quality of the hotel, I am sure they will just be happy being at Disney.

I have always gone down in May (this will be my first time going in September) as well and love it. The crowds have never been a issue and the weather is very hot...just the way I like it. I am sure you and your family will have a GREAT time!

I have gone in May the past two years, my family absolutely loves it that time of year. Epcot is having their Flower and Garden Festival at that time. There is not any extra charge, Epcot also has Spring concerts going on during the month of May.

The crowds were very light both times. We were able to go on all of the main attractions more than once. Minimal wait times for everything, take advantage of the fast passes. They are great!

Out of the 16 days we werethere in May(07 &08), we only had rain one afternoon(for an hour). Temps have averaged in the mid to upper 80's.

We made ADR's prior to our arrival, but we were able to walk into Brown Derby and Liberty Tavern with no reservations for lunch.

We have stayed off site both years so I can not comment on the resorts.

Enjoy your vacation!!

I always request a room near the main building at the value resorts which for music would be the Calypso themed one. I like the food court there. I recommend buying the refillable mugs. The weather's my favorite at that time of year as well. I highly recommend the Flower and Garden festival ( you don't realize what you're missing until you go again and see Epcot without it)

Great time! I used to always go in May (next year - Feb. which will be completely new for me!) May is nice, usually light crowds. Like the others said you can catch the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival. (It will be on to May 31st in '09) . The various gardens, exhibits and butterfly house are usually free with park admission. However there are things like special guided tours and stuff that do cost extra. Unless you're really into gardening you get to see plenty without spending extra.

The weather is nice, can get sticky as the month goes on. But it's usually not the really nasty humidity you can get during the summer. Perfect conditions for the water parks! Just go to one on a weekday - much lighter crowds. The last time I was there we practically walked on to most slides early in the day and had only short lines in the afternoon.

thanks have stayed at both, music ,and movies, loved them both.dont like the sports one looks a bit run down. we only use it for the pools and somewhere to sleep,i have already booked, can i request a room near the amenites, as one of the family has MS and gets tired easily(should i deal with disney direct?).so we will be hiring a wheelchair for the parks, hope we arent going to get slack for it, as she really doesnt want to, but we think it will help her last!
what time approx, does the park close? the dates arent up yet on the disney site? if we buy 4 day tickets from disney site can we have it incorporated in to our room keys?

As long as they have availability, it is not too late to get a preferred room. Calypso is the closest in Music but Jazz is not far, either.

Yes, you can add the park days onto your room key...very convienent.

The person in your party genuinely needs the wheelchair so it will not be a problem. We saw so many last week with NO medical problems and only used ity to get onto a bus first and avoid lines...so not cool.

The last weekend of May 23-25 will be Memorial day weekend next year. We where at Disney this past year and it was not overly crowded that weekend, but more than the other days. We thought that the weather was great, having gone before in mid to late June. As others have mentioned the Flower and Garden Festival were going on at EOCOT till June first this year. If we had a trip for this year I would try and go that again at the end of May. Enjoy yourself and have some fun for me.
