I am the Disney addict of the household. I am the one who is constantly talking about new rides and what I saw on the boards today. I have yakked about WDW so much over the years that I have converted my wife to a part time devote'. Over the past 10 years we have probably spent the last 8 anniversarys there. But next year is our 20th anniv. and we have decided to go all out and take a big cruise this time. My wife loves cruses. She has picked out the itenararry, when we leave, what ship and so on. She is very excited about it and spends many hours on line looking over various info about the cruise. And one night as she was going on and on ( at least it seemed that way ) about some little detail about where and when we could eat dinner I found my mind wandering off and then it hit me. . . . . . . . . . HOLY CRAP ! I bet this is what I sound like when I talk about Disney ! ! Now that I have been on the recieving end I will try to contain it a little and be a bit more tolerant of "non-believers" of the universe.

Admitting we have a problem is the first step toward recovery...:ROFLOL:

I know what you mean. I've got a friend who is into airplanes, and I when he endlessly drones on about stuff I don't get, I think "that must be what I sound like when talking about Disney".

LOL . . . just last night my hubby was telling me about what a great golf game he just played, what his score was, blah, blah, blah. I'm sure my eyeballs started to glaze over. The poor guy has to hear me yap constantly about WDW, so I can't say anything. :ROFLOL:

Thank my Mickey stars that my Hubby and I both speak fluent WDW lingo. I can't imagine being in the house with a non believer lol. If I had to describe us I would say I am the 'Travel Agent' while hubby is the 'Tour Guide'. Now outside of our home...Everyone thinks we are nuts lol.

I routinely know I sound like such a freak when I talk to people! I have to be careful not to use the lingo, and I try not to sound like I know too much because I know it comes through anyway. But I just get so excited when talking about WDW!

Totally understand...At work I 'hide' my lingo and all because I think people get sick of it. My DH and I thankfully can talk and plan and all. But man when we get around in laws and family. Its like we have to shut up....but yep I know and toltally understand.

My husband just goes on and on and on about hockey...and I am like oh god this is what I sound like. Thankfully he isn't that much better about it than I am...

To the original poster:

Tell me about it...I suffer from being a Disney addict AND a cruise addict ...so people have to suffer through listening to BOTH from me. Ironically, I've never been on a Disney cruise.

I know what you mean. I've got a friend who is into airplanes, and I when he endlessly drones on about stuff I don't get, I think "that must be what I sound like when talking about Disney".

...and I'm also totally into airplanes

As longtime Disneyites, only at home in our house can we 'talk' Disney. Any where else, at work, around friends, etc., people start in with the, "Why there again?" and the "Weren't you just there last year" or the "Why don't you go someplace else" spiels, so we've found that we just don't talk about it outside of the house cause people tend to put us down for 'going there again'. I'm tending to think its just jealousy. :)

God you guys sound like us! But the hubby is the travel agent/tour guide (for those who choose to adventure with us) and me who is Dining &entertainment committe/photographer!.
We'll be at my inlaws say on a Sunday for dinner and something either we see or someone says (as it usually does without them knowing) makes hubby or I think of disney, and there is always someone who says "huh I don't get it"? When we do say something
Mother in law just shakes her head " you know them, always something to do with Disney"....Yes thank god for our Disney Lingo!

I don't really have anyone to talk about Disney with either. Hubby listens for awhile, but I can see that exact moment when his brain shuts off and he quits hearing. But I do that same thing to him when he starts talking hunting, so in that we're pretty even.
I've gone to a couple Pittsburgh area get togethers here in that last few nohths, and it was really fun spending time with people who "get it."

This happens to me alot... Someone says something important and then I say something like... "O yea, that reminds of whats going on in Disney" or something along those lines. I can't help it. If its on your mind a lot during the day, then its hard to not talk about it in every conversation. Its hard not to bring it up. glad I'm not the only one!

I absolutely hate it when people say that to me!! I want to scream "WHAT DO YOU MEAN 'WHY THERE AGAIN'"!!!!!! WERE ELSE ON THIS WILDLY SPINNING PLANET WOULD YOU HAVE ME GO??? This is usually where I loose them and they just walk away shaking their heads. Oh well, it just means I have a secret that they don't get. :lookaroun

I get what the OP means. My fianciee just kinda rolls her eyes when I talk about roller coasters, but I do the same when she talks about her job as a teacher

I get what everyone also means on talking to others. I live 10 minutes from Six Flags Great America. People roll their eyes when I tell them I'm going to WDW and the Universal parks. They also do the "why would you go there?" spiel when I tell them the amount of theme parks for me already this year (7 so far before Orlando.) Some people just A) dislike the parks in general or B) feel like when you have seen one theme park, you have seen them all. Clearly, they are wrong on B :)

My boyfriend plays World of Warcraft, so at least we both have things to annoy each other with =) He does love WDW, but he doesn't need to talk about it constantly like me.
I LOVE it when I get a customer who's into Disney. Those are the best conversations. I once took a phone call from a woman who was on the TTA while we were talking. I told her it was one of my favorite rides and she stayed on the phone with me through the whole thing so I could hear it
It was a slow day.

I also don't have anyone to use my lingo with... my wife, as soon as I start, gets that look:snore: and I know I am in trouble....
