Old Universal Studios Attractions

Who here misses Universal Studio's old rides? I personally miss Nickelodeon Studios. I mean they still have it, but they don't have any shows in it anymore. All there is left of the "studio tour" is you just go into a little room and play some games and then they say "exit this way" and you just walk out of the room and back into the park. It's not even a studio tour anymore!:( Post here about what you think they should bring back and why.

Yep, ET is still going strong, though it seems very dated now.

I wish Ghostbusters was still around, I saw it in '90, but would love to see it again.

isn't ghostbusters the only thing that closed down totally? I do agree that nickolodon should still take you through that tour, even if nothing is being filmed. the thing they have now is just a rip off...

Murder She Wrote, Herc/Xena, Backstage Tour (not Nick tours, but similar to the MGM Backlot Tour), and Ghostbusters are the only attractions that are gone that I can remember. I kind of liked the Backstage Tour and I really liked Ghostbusters. Twister was a really bad replacement choice for Ghostbusters.

I think they should have a studio tour. Every studio needs a tour!

I remember going on ET, like, 10 years ago. I told them my name was Ezekiel, and I laughed when ET said that.

Ah, memories...

ET

If you think about it, ET is totally unique in the design of the ride itself - and extremely well themed. It also underwent some recent renovations (mainly exterior paint and decoration) due to the 20th anniversary theatrical (re)release of the film. These factors lead me to believe that this attraction is far from "dated."

In all of central Florida's theme parks, how many rides utilize over-head track systems - and in which theme park(s) are they located?

ET, Kong, Peter Pan... each use overhead systems - which are extremely powerful aids in the theming of those attractions. They're not just there to be "cool" or "unique," but rather provide the tone of the respective movie's theme. And each do a terrific job.

I also miss Ghostbusters, but the first one was better than the second, I think. And I already miss The Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera, but don't get me started on that...

Not an Attraction so to speak, but I miss the Psycho House that use to be on a hill not to far from ET.

Holy cow, I don't have too many memories of US (my memory is bad) but I remember that!!! You could see it on the hill in the queue for ET. I was little at the time and it freaked me out! We were in a LONG line for ET so the queue was outside. It was night time and it was rainy, but you could see the house int he distance. I was afraid to look at it because I thought I might see the granny in the window. :) They got rid of that? That's too bad.

Um, I went to Universal two weeks ago, and Hanna-Barbera was still there. I could tell it was the same old ride because Bill Hanna was in the opening video and Don Messick was voicing Boo-Boo.

Just be lucky H-B is now owned by Warner Brothers and they can't all the newer characters owned by H-B, liked Dexter, Powerpuff Girls, etc...

Hanna Barbera will be closing soon to make way for a Jimmy Neutron attracrtion.
