Old Threads

Alrighty, what's the deal with resurrecting old threads?

Lately, I go and enter a thread, read a few responses, prepare to respond in my usual witty manner, and what do I suddenly realize........?

That the last post in this thread is like three years old...

I understand that people need to bring back old topics from time to time in order to get current questions answered, but has anyone else noticed an unusually large amount of old threads circulating?

Just wondering...

BTW, did I forget to mention...

My family has just booked our yearly WDW trip!:sohappy: :sohappy:

We will be arriving on July 30th and Leaving Aug 1st. We will be staying at the Wilderness Lodge. I can't wait! And my Birthday is on July 31st, so I've got quite a present to look forward to!

I think, as newbies read through the threads, they see one that interests them and post a reply. I know I have done this myself. I am also bad for going back a couple of weeks and bringing back the Oprah thread among others.

Well you will have a great time at the WL, although you will have missed figmentmom's family & mine by just a few days.
Don't forget to let everyone know its your birthday when you are there. :king:

Every once in awhile its fun to re visit an thread. I've spent time reading only to find out its over a year old. :lol:

I don't really have a problem with bringing back old threads...especially if you have a valid response to add.

However, sometimes I will read the entire thread and suddenly realize that it just out of date. It is really a showing of my own stupidity:hammer:

i dont want to pretend that i know the real reason
but
next time you notice a really old thread...take note... they are NEVER chit chat threads that are brought back out of nowhere...:lookaroun

(and dont feel stupid...i do it too!!)

Unforntunatly the Chit Chat threads that would be good for ressurection have been either locked or mutual agreed upon to ignore.

And I have noticed that there are a whole bunch of newbies roaming the boards. I feel like an official member now.

Yep, imagineer99, you'll just miss us by a few days, but I'm sure you and your family will have a great trip! I really like doing in the summer - I love hot weather - and the crowds are easier to beat now that Fastpass is in use.

I don't mind responding to "old" threads - but I DO have to look twice at posting dates so that I'm not replying to an ancient conversation as if it were current!:lol:

Yes we are. figmentmon will be finishing up her stay as we are starting ours (we overlap a couple of days). We are keeping our fingers crossed for a mini meet. (hopefully the MAGIC meet will fall on the same weekend & we can meet up with some of the other members).
