Old Key West

Howdy again....

Looking for any first hand info on Old Key West Resort. I have a 2 bedroom condo booked for 7 nights and I am wondering if anyone has suggestions or comments on that resort. I have only been to WDW once before and we stayed at the Disney Institute at a condo. I liked it even though the rooms were old.

Thanks again!

I haven't stayed there, but I've visited it a few times. It seems quite nice. Olivia's is pretty good and the bar by the pool ("Gurgling Suitcase"?) is nice too. (Though I was quite surprsed they allowed smoking there.) Sometime, I think DW and I will use our DVC points to stay at OKW.

When are you going? That might help others give you some advice.

Melora...
Be sure to give us a trip report. I am a DVC member too and would love to hear how your stay went. We were thinking about staying there sometime, our "home" is the BCV.

I've stayed there numerous times and always in a two bedroom. It is a great resort. We love it there. The rooms are big and the atmosphere is great.

The only downside is that it is a bit spread out so if you are far away from the main building you need to take a bus or car to it (or a long walk). We have always had a car so it was not an issue.

I hope you have a great time while you are there.

I've stayed there several times and two times in the two bedroom. It is very spacious. Hope you are driving or have a rental car though. I've never been very happy with the transportation from there (waited for an hour for a bus to MK a few times).

An hour! Wow, we never had a problem like that. But you are right about the car - it really helps.

Yeah, I figured it was a fluke the first time, but after the second time I refuse to stay there if I don't have a car.

depends where your building is ..

by the way ... there are numorous bus stops around the resort on the different "roads" hopefully the bus stop is close to the building and has an ice machine:slurp:
