Old attraction tributes

Do any of you know any attraction tributes from old rides. I already know about the picture of Mr. Toad giving the deed to Owl in The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, and the Mission to Mars: History or Hoax? thing in AE. Any others that you know?:)

Most people know about this one already, but in Star Tours there is a quick glimpse of the Mighty Microscope from the Adventure Thru Innerspace attraction at Disneyland. That's because Star Tours at Disneyland is in the same building where the Innerspace attraction once was.

In Splash Mountain at Disneyland, you pass by Brer Bear's cave and hear him snoring inside (can't remember if this happens in the WDW version or not). Anyway, when Splash Mountain first opened, the mailbox outside this cave used to say Rufus Bear. That was the name of the snoring bear that guests would hear as they entered Bear Country (Critter Country's former name before Splash was built) in the winter.

In the inventors room in the que of JIYI, one of the inventors on the wall is "Dean Finder," tribute to none other than, "Dreamfinder" who was in the original Imagination.

Actually, there are TWO Mr. Toad tributes in The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh:

1) The picture of Mr. Toad with Owl

2) One of the pictures lying on the floor in Owl's house depicts Moley (one of Mr. Toad's friends) with Pooh. It's on the right side of the vehicles, so you'll have to look over the edge of your car in order to see it. It's easier to miss than the picture of Owl and Toad.

Still on the toad thing, there is a Mr. Toads ride vehicle in the town hall on mian street in MK. I would love to see some more info at WDW on past exhibits and shows. For example, the swans that used to go around the moat in front of Cinderella's castle.

The whole exhibit thing at mgm based on walt's life is truely a great thing to go through. Disney co. could fill a vacant spot with tributes to old attractions. I would spend a dollar a little quicker on a tribute shirt. But to have a lot of the shops peddle the same merchandise over and over, gets old. Sorry if I thread drifted on this.....

I loved walking through this! I probably spent an hour or so in there. I didn't know about the pictures in Winnie the Pooh. That's really neat!

Also in the line for JIYI there are some old items from the old ride on the shelf to your right when your walking through. If you ever had ridden the orginal version you'll recognize some of them.

As far as tributes to old rides go:

On the Figment ride at Epcot, I have seen the Dean Finder name on the window of the door several times. You pass the door after you get into the ride vehicle.

For AE there is a Robot newsboy under the TTA that has a newspaper talking about XS-tech (the people who created the technology to transport the original alien).

And finally in the ride Dinosaur at Animal Kingdom not only are the EMV's still called CTX Rovers, but if you load onto the right side track there is a wall right before you leave the load up room that says Sector Number # CTX-WDI-AK98. (CTX=Countdown to Extinction, the Dinosaur rides former name).

I have seen all of this stuff as recently as yesterday. Any other old ride tributes I can't be sure of just yet. For some reason I keep missing the Mr. Toad-Owl deed picture on the Winnie the Pooh ride, and the Horizon's symbol at Mission Space.

The Albatross pre show footage either directly from, or sim to, the old Mission to Mars MK attraction, now plays on the Mission Control monitors at Mission Space.

At the end of Ellen's Energy Crisis the Jeopardy announcer says "Energy You Make the World Go Round" As in the song from the old Universe of Energy show.

One of the Dreamfinder's old vehicles is located near the ceiling in the Mouse Gear store at Epcot too.

Mr. Tommorrow and Mr. Johnson from Mission to Mars and Flight to the Moon. From the TTA.

Advneture Thru Inner Space fans from D-Land will notice that every Star Tours out there including MGM's is pretty much a replica of the one in D-Land...you can even go to MGM and feel like you have enterered the spacious and winding queue of Adventure Thru Inner Space just as I realized when I went in april. There are I believe even cut outs in the second level where a peoplemover would have been browsing by. Maybe that will happen once again in D-Land.

Uhhh..I guess the Tiki Song from Under New Managment...or what's left of it. :hammer:

What's left of the original Transcenter at Test Track...

There's a seagul and Eastern Airlines logo painted above the score board at the unload area to Buzz Lightyear......j/k :dazzle:

Robo Boy and Robo Dog...the only known remants from RCA's home of future living on the space mtn speedramp.

Many of the backdrops, color schemes and shapes of the speedramp rooms are still from RYCA-1 before the FedEx exhibit took over and added some stuff in. Here's hoping for a new futuristic exhibit some day!!! :sohappy:

There's a piece of sheet music for One Little Spark(the one Figment uses as a glider) in the finale of JIIWF with the sillouette of the Dreammobile.

A couple of others are also around either intentionally or not.

1. In Innovention West, along the back concourse, the carpeting is still the original carpeting with the Communicore logo on it.

2. The old Epcot Logo is around in a couple places. First, the opening plaque still has it on it. Also, the pavement near the foutain of nations made the logo (but that has started to disappear with repairs to the concrete, so it is not entire anymore I don't believe).

Horizons had `Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow` in it - although the entire attraction was a loose sequal to the CoP as a whole...

1. Certain video clips in Circle of Life (The Land in Epcot) were originally used in the previous show there (I forgot what it is called).
2. A poster in Tomorrowland (WDW) refers to the Moonliner rocket in DL, although the drawing shown with the name is a totally different rocket.
3. Skippy from Alien Encounter still appears in the preshow for Stitch's Great Escape (I think everyone knew about this already).
4. The letters XS still appear in different parts of Stitch's Great Escape (at least, they did when I was last there).

I still do not understand why they did not just write the name DreamFinder, deanfinder could be taken as an insult to true fans of him.

-The music from the short-lived daytime fireworks show in World Showcase, Surpise in the Skies is still used for some of the Fountain of Nations shows.

-The music from the Tapestry parades is used as the exit music from Illuminations

-The tracks from the short-lived Swan Boats attraction are still visible (as far as I know) in the Cinderella Castle moat, and the old loading station is still there.
