OKW in June... I have questions...

I doubt that that is an option for online check-in, and there isn't anywhere you can enter free form requests.

How did you book OKW?
- If you are a DVC member then phone Member Services and ask them to add it to your reservation.
- If you rented points then you need to ask the owner (through the broker if applicable) to add your request.
- And if you booked direct with Disney, then phone CRO (the usual reservations number).

And in all cases, then leave everything blank when doing on-line check in. This is because the DVC reservation system is different from (and pretty much incompatible with) the Disney one, and you cannot see what is entered in that section even if you are a member. The online request area will over-write whatever is already entered.

Oh, also it isn't rooms 32-36, those are the building numbers. They're close to HH but I don't think they are the actual booking category of near HH. @helenabear can confirm this bit though, she is the foremost OKW expert anywhere!

Agreed though if you are a DVC owner, you can go online and chat or e-mail your request. I prefer to do that instead of calling. Just tell them you want buildings 30+ for 2 bathrooms. Though South Point and Turtle Pond as requests will also do it. The only area missed would be the Miller's area of 62-64 but really South Point and Turtle Pond encompass the vast majority of all the newer layouts.

Buildings 32-36 just a subset of all the Turtle Pond rooms. They have buildings 30-44. South Point is 45-56.

I wouldn't stay at Old Key West without a car. It has the best parking situation on property and the internal bus can be a hassle no matter where your room is. With a car, I thing buildings 45 and 46 are the best. They're among the quietest rooms in all of Walt Disney World, and the river views are fantastic.
Not sure why you wouldn't stay there without a car. The transportation there is great from my many stays there. Oddly no one complains about multiple stops at moderates or even shared buses at other deluxes. People love to dump on the resort for the size, but it's really not that big. It's very walkabout throughout the resort.

While we do get a car, we never use it around just the resort. It's honestly not necessary unless you might have health issues.

I really don't get the internal bus being a hassle though. You also don't need to use it to get around. Buses stop at HH before going to the parks. Peninsular is the first stop on the way in so if you are at the HH you can cross the road to get to that stop and then hop off at your stop. But really it's extremely walkable and really not that far even walking from the furthest at Turtle Pond to the HH.

Yes they do. Lots of people do. I do.

Wow, defensive much? I never said anything about using a car to get around the resort. I don't. But the internal bus adds significant commute time to get to the parks. Honestly, my comment about renting a car was more about how good the parking situation is than particular problems with the buses.

Totally agree. I always walk throughout OKW. My husband complains about it because he's lazy. :)

Now, when we get towards the end of our contract and are pushing 80, I might not be so assertive about walking all over the resort, but as long as I have my health, I'll be on foot.

Disagreeing doesn't always equate to bring defensive. Your comment sounded like you wouldn't stay there due to the buses, not just for parking. You had it all in one sentence. Since you mentioned the buses I said what I did. It's an extremely common comment ( just like location of AKL is) that without a car people wouldn't stay there because of the bus hassle (using your words, not mine)

Truly sorry yoy took it as me being defensive though, I wasn't feeling it intending it to come across that way.

There's always ECVs is health doesn't allow for traveling by foot ;)

I just returned from a week at OKW. We had originally had 3 studio rooms for a party of 10. We were in Turtle Pond building 38. On day 2, my MIL ran over herself with her scooter and ended up breaking a bone in her leg. She went from not being able to walk long distances to not being able to walk at all. The front desk was SUPER helpful with our situation. We ended up moving two of our studio rooms into one 2-bedroom villa in building 39. I'm not sure about the studio rooms, but the 2-bedroom in building 39 had been refurbished.

Also, the Southpoint bus stop has been moved to a temporary location and Peninsular Road is closed just beyond it. They must be currently renovating those rooms.

So sorry about your MIL's foot! I wish her the best with her recovery.

Just as an FYI they are doing whole buildings at a time there, so if one building is done all room types in said building are done.
