POP Warner is not an issue. We have been there the last 2 years during their entire stay and never had an issue with swarms of kids. They are in comps all day and stager their going to the parks. Do not let that deter you. You might not want to stay at Sports or POFQ I think they stay there, But we have never had issues with them being loud or coveting the park in groves...

We went over Thanksgiving in 2006. Holiday festivities were in full swing. I can't say it put me in the Christmas spirit any more than usual, but I suppose it would for most. It was my first trip so I was more into everything not holiday-centric. It was warmer in Wisconsin than it was in Florida for 3-4 of the days. No kidding. Highs in the lower 60s. It did eventually get up to about 78 over the last day or two.

Being in NY i try to make my way down to WDW once, maybe twice a year if i can afford it. And in 08 i went in december for the first time and it was my BEST trip ever.

Crowds werent too bad. Weather was amazing. At night it was a little chilly on some days but nothing a light sweatshirt wont help. Even headed over to IOA and US and those places were empty (not sure if they are always empty it was my first time). The lines werent long at all really, except during the holiday parties. Seeing the lights in person was pretty magical and i would definitely do it again. Actually i am this year from 12/30-1/3:xmas:. see ya there!

You'll find things a tad different on the crowd front with the dates of your next trip. ;)

Consider yourself lucky. I had a preferred room one year at Pop and it was insane. The kids were in the pool SCREAMING and running up and down outside the doors until about 1AM. The coaches/parents were nowhere to be found....until I bothered to check out the bar. They were all at the outside pool bar and once that closed, they sat around outside on coolers. There was ZERO supervision. It was the last time I ever stayed at Pop or any values. Between the "wal-mart" crowd with zero manners and rudeness and then the Pop Warner misfortunes, we decided that its moderates or deluxes from now on.

I'm not anti-kid or anti-fun. But its obvious from the looks of the folks it was the first time most of them had been "out of the city" and had little idea how to behave at a hotel. And it was obvious they were a part of the Pop Warner tournament. However I believe it was the year before there was that big fight at the hotel that caused 2 teams to be thrown out at 2AM and bused off WDW property. So maybe they cracked down. Since then, I haven't really seen that much of them execpt one time at Studios. It was great until about 3PM. They came by the wave. HUNDREDS, it seemed. RoRC and ToT went from 20 minute to 70 minute and stayed there. Cheerleaders doing all their cheers inline at the top of their lungs. It wouldn't be so bad, but with 2 or 3 different groups of cheerleaders in line, its just a ear blistering mob sound. I know they are excited and all, but I'm 2 feet away in line and I have nowhere to go!

And after observing one bunch of hoodlums spitting at people as they went bye to see if they could get them in the back, I found myself close to clobbering a 12 yr old. It wasn't worth and we actually just left the park for the day it was so bad.

So consider yourself lucky you haven't had the great experience of dealing with them in mass. :ROFLOL:
